You stand guard above the Woodland Realm dungeons, your eyes continuously moving over to Kili's dungeon. The Dwarves have spent two weeks in the dungeons and from afar, you've fallen in love with Kili. But before you could get the chance to have a conversation with him, your fellow Elf Tauriel started conversing with the handsome Dwarf and fell in love with him—the feeling mutual.
You sigh, watching Kili as he plays with his talisman. "He looks so handsome." You murmur.
"Y/N, we're supposed to switch positions. You guard the dungeons and I'll stay here until dawn." Elros says, walking up next to you. Your heart jumps at the chance to guard the Dungeons.
"Of course." You say, nodding. You walk down the stairs, your heart in your throat. "This is it. This is my chance to talk to him." You whisper. You let out a barely audible, excited squeal. By the time you get to the dungeons, you regain your composure.
When you walk past the dungeons, you slow a stop when you reach Kili's dungeon. You both stare at each other. The words are stolen out of your slighty agape mouth. You clench your jaw shut and hurriedly walk away, blushing furiously.
You walk past the last dungeon and sink to the stairs, burying your face in your hands, wanting to crawl in a whole and die.
"Hey, Kili." You hear Tauriel say. You watch her from across the room as she sits beside Kili's cell and starts talking with him.
     "Ugh." You groan.
"Is something wrong?" A voice asks from the cell nearest to you. You gasp and jump up, your heart about to rip out of your chest. You sigh and put a hand on your head.
"Sorry, I didn't realize that this cell was occupied." You mutter.
The handsome blond haired, blue eyed Dwarf smiles. "No worries." He says.
You take a deep breath and sit back down, your eyes moving back over to Kili and Tauriel.
"My brother seems quite taken with her." The Dwarf beside you says.
You look at him in shock. "He's your brother?!" You exclaim, turning to face him completely. He nods.
"My name is Fili. Kili's my younger brother." He answers.
"Wow." You breathe. You smile a little and stick your hand through his cell door. "My name is Y/N." You introduce.
Fili smiles and shakes your hand. "Nice to meet you." He says.

———
Fili and you talk until the dawn—when your shift ends. He has managed to make you forget about Kili.
"When will I see you again?" He asks, before you leave.
You shrug. "I'm off of my shift until tomorrow night. I'll sleep for a little bit and then I can come back and talk to you on my own time." You answer, smiling.
Fili's hands grasp the cell bars. "Oh, please do, Y/N." He says eagerly.
"I will, Fili." You reply, smiling. "Until tonight." You say softly, walking away.
      "Until tonight." Fili murmurs.
Before you leave the dungeons, you give one glance back at a certain Dwarf. You smile to yourself, your heart suddenly warming at the thought of Fili.

———
That night, true to your word, you visit Fili. You talk for hours, nearly covering every subject from weapons to what they eat in the Woodland Realm.
You rest your head against the cell bars, just staring at Fili, not even believing that this Dwarf has captured your heart this quickly. You can't stop thinking of him, leaving no room for thoughts of Kili.
Fili laughs softly at something he says and you realize you just zoned out. You blink and shake your head, wrapping your fingers around the bars. Fili rests against the bars, smiling at you.
"You're tired, aren't you?" He asks. You nod, smiling tiredly. Fili covers his fingers around the bars, his blue eyes never leaving yours. "Then go to bed." He says softly.
"No, I want to stay here and talk with you." You protest.
Fili smiles. "You're going to fall asleep, Y/N." He says.
"You won't mind, will you?" You laugh softly.

He shakes his head, grinning. "Not at all. I'm sure you're a beautiful sleeper." He says. You blush and look down.
"Y/N." Fili says. You look up at him. He takes a deep breath. "I really like you." He whispers.
"Oh, Fili, I like you too." You reply, wrapping your other hand on the bars. "I-I don't know how. I was so enthralled by Kili. But you just swooped in and stole my heart." You explain.
"You know, I'd watch you when you were up top, keeping watch. I thought—think that you're the most beautiful girl I have ever seen." Fili says, reaching through the bars to cup your face.
You smile, tears in your eyes. You lean forward and kiss Fili deeply through the bars.
[THE END] I hope you liked it!
