| IMAGINE for @sanaraheel789 |
Fili, Oín, Bofur, Kili, and Tauriel make their way up to Erebor. Smaug the Dragon attacked Lake Town. Luckily all the Dwarves and the She-Elf survived.
Fili glances at Kili and Tauriel who're holding hands. He sighs deeply. It is good to see his brother so happy but at what cost? Thorin certainly will disapprove of their relationship and, as much as Fili would love to be happy for his brother, a Dwarf and an Elf just won't mix.
"Or will it..." Fili grumbles under his breath.
When the Dwarves and Tauriel get into the Lonely Mountain, they notice a lot of it is in ruin. "No..." Bofur gasps in horror. Fili and Kili share a fearful look.
"Hello? Bifur! Bombur?" Bofur shouts, running further into the mountain, everyone else hot on his heels.
"Stop! No! No! No! Leave! You have to leave now!" Bilbo exclaims, meeting the group.
They all stop and stare at him in confusion. "Leave? We only just got here." Kili says.
"You have to leave. This-this kingdom is...sick." Bilbo spits.
Fili's eyebrows draw. "What do you mean? Where's Thorin?" Bilbo swallows and visibly pale.
"Where is he?" Kili asks sternly.
"Follow me." Bilbo grumbles, clearly not wanting to take them any further. Fili, Oín, Bofur, Kili, and Tauriel follow Bilbo until he brings them up to the famous treasure hoard of King Thror. Tauriel gasps and blinks in shock.
"Whoa." Kili whispers. Fili doesn't say anything. He clenches his jaw as he spots his uncle walking among all the gold. Thorin is mumbling to himself. He seems okay, but something seems...off.
"Thorin!" Fili shouts. Thorin looks at him. He then tosses a large ruby at Fili. Fili grabs it, while staring at his uncle.
"Welcome, my sister's sons, to the kingdom of Erebor." Thorin says, outstretching his arms. Fili looks around, taking everything in. His eyes catch movement in a separate corridor. He squints as he sees movement coming out the shadows. His heart nearly stops.
"Y/N?" He asks, his voice shaking.
"Fili!" You exclaim, coming out of the shadows, smiling. Fili's heart kicks up triple time at seeing you, the woman he loves so deeply. Fili isn't the only one who's in love with you. Thorin is dating you. Fili pushes that thought out of his mind as he runs to you. He pulls you into his arms and spins you around.
"Whoa, Fili, I'm glad to see you too. Now put me down." You laugh. Fili pulls back, flushing, and looks into your beautiful eyes. Kili comes closer and you hug him, while smiling at Fili.

Everyone, except Thorin, is sitting around the table, eating the food that Bilbo and you prepared. Everyone is catching each other up with the latest news. Fili can't stop staring at you. You're wearing a beautiful sea blue dress. You must have found it in one of the rooms. He can't take his eyes off of you. You're glowing.
"Y/N, what's that on your finger?" Kili asks suddenly. Fili's eyes drop to your hand where there's a ring. Fili, Oín, and Bofur lean in. It has the family crest on it. Fili slowly looks up at you. You're blushing crimson.
Bofur crosses his arms, grinning. "All right, what's happened while we've been gone?"
"Thorin proposed to Y/N and she accepted." Ori states. Everyone is smiling. Everyone, that is, but Fili, who's staring at you, his heart crumbling.
Kili, overjoyed, throws his arms around you, his soon-to-be aunt. "Well, congratulations! I'm so happy for you!"
"Thank you, thank you." You laugh.
"Our mother is going to absolutely love you, Y/N! Isn't that right, Fili? Fili? Oye! Fili! Are you all right?" Kili says, looking at his brother.
Fili shakes himself out of it and offers you a weak smile. "Yeah, yeah. She will. Congratulations." He chokes out. Suddenly Thorin barges into the room. Congratulations explode from the Dwarves. Fili takes this as his chance to leave. He jumps to his feet and brushes past Thorin. Fili all but runs out the door.
Fili walks down the hall, angry. It just isn't fair. He saw you first at Bag End before Thorin even laid eyes on you. And yet Thorin and you were attracted to each other from the start. Fili can't ignore the way Thorin and you looked at each other all throughout the journey. He growls lowly.
He hears light footsteps behind him, but he ignores them, knowing they belong to you. He keeps on walking.
"Fili, wait! Stop!" You call. He bites his lip and doesn't stop, not in the mood to see you right now. Not when he knows you'll never be able to love him like he loves you.
"Fili." You breathe, grabbing his shoulder and stopping him. "Don't run. Please." You whisper.
At the sound of your soft voice, Fili throws caution to the wind and turns around. He grips your shoulders and pushes you against the wall. You gasp softly, your eyes widening. Before he can stop himself, he leans towards you and kisses you. He presses his body against yours as he cups your face. He deepens the kiss. After a long minute, he pulls away, his breath coming quick. You stare at him in shock, breathing hard.
Regret and shame immediately fill Fili. You're going to be his aunt for Durin's sake and he kissed you! Fili turns to leave but you grab his arm, stopping him.
"Fili." You whisper.
"No, Y/N, I shouldn't have done that." Fili replies.
"You've loved me for a while, haven't you?"
He finally looks at you miserably. "Since the first moment I saw you." He admits. "I knew-I knew you'd never return my feelings but I was holding on to so much hope that I thought it just might be possible for you to love me. It was stupid of me, I know."
You sigh and swallow. "It's not stupid. When I first started having feelings for Thorin, I thought, 'He could never love me', but I still had hope that he could love me, despite the odds being against me. And look at me now: I'm to be his wife. So for you to say that having hope that I may love you was stupid, it wasn't. Hope is what drives us, Fili. Never, ever lose it."
Fili sighs. "But I just...I just love you so much."
"One day you will find a woman who loves you just as much as you love me and it will make you realize why I wasn't the one for you." You reply. You bring his forehead against yours. You hug him tightly and he hugs you back, his one hand cradling your head.
"Y/N? Fili?" It is Thorin.
Fili sighs and you pull away from him, smiling a little at him. "Well, I better get back before his knickers get in a knot." You say. Fili chokes on a laugh and you grin.
Thorin comes down the hall with Kili. "We were worried about you. You two just ran out on us." Thorin says. Kili looks between you and Fili, noticing the tension. "You all rest up for a bit. Then we'll start the search for the Arkenstone." Thorin states. He holds out his hand to you and you take it, smiling at him. He smiles back. "Come on, my love." He murmurs. Thorin and you walk down the hall as Fili stares at them.
Kili walks over to his brother and looks at him. "All right, Uncle Thorin may be absolutely blind to what just went on—what's been going on—but I'm not. So spill it, brother." He says, crossing his arms. Fili sighs deeply and explains everything to Kili. At the end of the story Kili's jaw is dropped in shock.
"Whoa, okay then." He breathes. He clears his throat, shifting awkwardly. "I'll just-I'll just leave you to your thoughts then." He says, before turning around.
"Wait!" Fili exclaims in a whisper, grabbing his arm, holding him back. Kili follows his line of vision. Thorin and you are at the end of the hall, kissing. Fili's mouth goes dry. He takes a deep breath. "I wish them all the happiness in the world." He says more to himself than to Kili. Kili puts a hand on his shoulder.
[THE END] I hope you liked it!
