"You.....you're joking right?" Ted said laughing, but when he saw Tonks's hurt face he stopped.

"Dromeda, can I speak to you for a minute?" Ted growled. He walked out the room. Andromeda gave a sad smile before following.

"We shouldn't have come here. I'm sorry Remus. I'm so sorry." Tonks cried, hair turning blue. She put her face in her hands and sighed.

"It's fine. I'm used to reactions like this." Remus replied. "M-maybe they'll be fine with it."

"I hope so." Tonks whispered sadly.

"Hey. It'll be fine." Remus said. He tiled her chin up and kissed her lightly. He felt Tonks smiled a little as their lips met.

They soon heard voices getting louder and more understandable, but neither pulled away until the door was opened. Remus had an arm around Tonks, her head resting on his chest. Andromeda walked in first. It was hard to tell her emotion because her face was straight.

"Remus. We need to talk." She said bluntly.

Tonks gave him a reassuring look. He kissed her quickly before following Andromeda out the room. She didn't speak to him till they were in her room upstairs.

"I'm going to say now I'm not exactly thrilled about this." Andromeda said, finally. "When are you planning on getting married?"

"End of this week. On Sunday." Remus replied

"That's a little soon don't you think?" Andromeda said

"I'd've thought you would have known why we can't wait that much longer. And, I just want her to be happy." Remus replied. "I love her, more than anything."

"You really love her?" Andromeda sighed. "

"I do. I really do." Remus replied

"Ok. Stay there. I'm going to get you something." Andromeda said. She headed over to her wardrobe. Remus could hear her rummaging around and the sounds of locks.

"I want you to have these." Andromeda said, once she returned. Holding her hand out, Remus could see two rings. One for a male, one for a female. "They were my grandmothers. She gave them to my mother, who gave them to me, just before I got disowned. She never wanted them back because they had no family crest."

Andromeda placed them in Remus's hands. She smiled at his shocked face.

"B-but, these are yours. I could never take them." Remus replied

"But I want you to have them, as a wedding gift. I've known you for a long time Remus, I know that when you fall in you love you fall hard." andromeda said softly "Just, please take them. And when you go back down, tell Nymphadora I'd like a word with her."

Remus nodded before pocketing the rings. Slowly walking down the stairs he could faintly hear Tonks and her dad talking. Not wanting to seem rude, Remus knocked on the door. Conversation behind the door stopped instantly.

"Come in." Ted said.

Remus opened the door to reveal Tonks sitting on the sofa, looking pale, and her dad standing.

"Tonks, your mum wants a word with you." Remus said nervously

Tonks nodded before quickly pushing past him. Remus stood awkwardly in the doorway, not too sure what to do.

"So you're getting married on Sunday then." Ted said eventually.

"Yeah." Remus replied quietly

"Well a least look pleased about it!" Ted laughed loudly. "You're getting married for Merlin's sake. Even if it is to my daughter and, like my wife, I am not too happy about it. But you seem to make her happy, so I'm fine with it."

Remus wasn't sure how to react. For a minute, he thought Ted was going to yell at him, like he was a child. But then he started laughing and looking very pleased.

"Just look after her, please. In these times, we need as many people in our lives as we can." Ted said, sitting down heavily. Remus joined him.

"Yeah. No one's safe eh." Remus sighed

"She'll be fine with you I'm sure. Andromeda used to speak very highly of you. How you handled your 'problem' so I trust you a lot. But just please, promise me one thing?"

"Anything."

"Make sure you're happy as well, ok?" Ted said seriously

"I will sir."

"Thank you. And, please call me Ted, you'll be family soon." Ted said warmly. "So Remus, are your parents coming to the wedding?"

"No uh, my parents were killed a few years after I left Hogwarts." Remus said, sad memories flowed through his brain as he though of his parents....and Amy.

"Oh. I'm sorry. Do you have any brothers or sisters?"

"I did. But she....killed when we were both young....very young." Remus sighed, guilt boiling up inside him like fire.

"I'm sorry. I-I didn't know." Ted said sympathetically, grasping Remus's shoulder in comfort.

"It's fine. I just wish I had a chance to know her properly." Remus said. "But in a way I'm glad she isn't alive to see this mess of a world we live in."

"It is a mess." Ted agreed. The two men fell silent, both wishing the conversation hadn't taken that route.

"So, I take you'll be coming." Remus said finally

"Wouldn't miss it for the world." Ted said happily. "Incase I don't get another chance to ask, is there a theme to the wedding?"

"Midnight and Pink. The two good things about us both." Remus chuckled. "Cheesy I know, but it reminds us there is always a little good within us, hidden beneath the surface."

"I think it's cute." Ted laughed. "Wonder what the women are up to?"

"Sometimes I think it's best not to ask and then we won't have to hear their long explanations and complaints." Remus replied

"Now that, is very true indeed. But seriously, what do they do. I mean when I married Andromeda, apparently it took nearly four hours to get ready. Don't get me wrong she, she looked absolutely beautiful but, how it took that long to do all of that I'll never know."

"The one things I've learned about women, is that when it comes to appearance, they became natural artists. Well, most do, but there will be those who don't need the make-up to look beautiful. Even if they try to convince you that they need it, you convince them they don't."

"Has that ever worked for you?"

"No......some burst into tears because they thought they were too ugly, some ignored me after, and a few slapped me." Remus laughed

"Ha ha ha, why?"

"Because I tried to show them how beautiful they look naturally." Remus replied

"Women are dramatic." Ted sighed

"Oh yes." Remus agreed. "Right, I'm going to see what's taking so long."

Remus stood up, his knees cracking loudly. He hated that noise but waved the annoyance away. Ted gave him an encouraging nod before he left to go up the stairs. He creeped silently up the stairs, trying to hear what the two women were doing. All he could hear, was rustling.

"Tonks, you done yet?" Remus asked loudly, knocking on the closed wooden door.

"AH! Merlin's Balls that hurt!" Tonks cried.

"Nymphadora, don't use such vulgar language." Andromeda scolded as Tonks winced in pain.

"Not my fault you stabbed me with a pin." Tonks muttered

"What was that dear?" Andromeda asked

"Nothing mum." Tonks sighed dramatically

"I'll come back later then." Remus said, turning away.

"No it's fine. We have finished actually, just making some final touches." Andromeda called after him "There, what do you think?"

"Oh mum, I love it. It's beautiful!" Tonks squealed. She quickly hugged her tightly.

Ten minutes later, Tonks and her mother appeared, both looking very pleased with themselves. Tonks kissed Remus on the cheek before heading towards the door.

"Well, we should be going." Tonks sighed. "Thank you for understanding. And thank you mum, for everything."

"It's my pleasure." Andromeda said warmly.

"Right well, see you on Sunday. Mum, about 8 would be a good time. We have to be at the church for 12." Tonks said quickly.

"It was nice seeing you again." Remus said, hugging Andromeda

"You to Remus." She replied. "Look after her." She whispered in his ear. Remus nodded before shaking hands with Ted.

"Remus. See you on Sunday." Ted said happily. "Bye Dora.

"Yeah. Bye mum, bye dad." Tonks called as they walked away.

It was still raining heavily as they ran across the pavement. The drains weren't coping well and were starting to overflow. They made it somewhere out of sight and safe for them to Disapparate back home.

"That went better than I thought." Tonks said, relieved.

"Yeah." Remus agreed. "Tomorrow we'll tell Molly and Arthur the arrangements for our wedding."

"Our wedding. I can't wait. I'm so excited, yet so nervous." Tonks cried excitedly.

Remus hugged her tightly, his arm holding her close. Tonks returned the affection by going tip-toe's so she could reach his lips. Her lips crashed against his passionately. Remus used this as the perfect moment to Dissaparate. They landed in a park, seven minutes walk from their house. They held each others hands tight, bodies close together. Tonks couldn't stop smiling. She was getting married soon, but that wasn't the only reason.......
