The two days after Remus's departure passed by slowly. Tonks's hair was brown again, and she wouldn't speak to anyone. No matter how hard anyone tried, she wouldn't say anything. Most night she sat on their bed, crying over the if's and but's and what she could have done to stop him.

The next morning, breakfast was the same. People talking quietly, Tonks stabbing at her food with no interest, people throwing her sympathetic looks. Tonks just stared at her pancakes. She nibbled them a little, but she didn't feel hungry, so her plate disappeared.

Lunch came around quicker than Tonks had hoped for. She had been cheering up as the day progressed, but as they sat at the large table for the second time that day, she was laughing and back to her usual self. She realized that moping around wasn't going to bring him back, and he would move on anyway. Her hair was right pink again so everyone knew he was alright.

Sirius, Fred, James and Tonks were all arguing over who could shove the most marshmallows in their mouth. Obviously Sirius said he could. So, to find out, they had summoned a massive bowl of marshmallows and shoved them in one by one into their own mouths. The little competition was almost over when talk took a sad route.

"Yes! Yes, I remember that!" Sirius yelled happily. "Hey, do you remember that Rem-"

Sirius stopped. He kept on doing that. Everyone's faces dropped as they remembered Remus.

"Sorry, I-I didn't..." Sirius said before trailing off.

"It's fine Sirius. It is understandable." Ted said sympathetically

Tonks sighed heavily. She had tried not to remember him that day, and it had worked, until now. The room suddenly felt very cold and lonely. It just wasn't the same with him.

Suddenly, the door to the room burst open.

"Why all the long faces. Who died?" a man said happily.

Everyone spun round and gasped. A battered looking Remus stood in the doorway, smiling. The group at the table didn't really react at all. He was meant to be gone, but how was he here?

"Remus!" Tonks cried in surprise. Remus smiled when he saw her coming towards him. She stopped in front. She raised a shaking hand to his face and......slapped him, hard. He stumbled back, clutching his face. Sirius, James, Snape and the others chuckled and gasped.

"What was that f-" Remus cried, but was stopped when Tonks started yelling.

"Remus John fucking Lupin you are in so much trouble!" Tonks yelled. "But it's so good to see you." Tonks sighed happily before crashing her lips agains his. She pulled back smiling happily.

"What the hell was all that for?" Remus cried, still rubbing his cheek where a big hand mark had formed.

"The slap was for scaring me to death and making me believe you were gone, properly. And the kiss was because I'm so glad you aren't gone and I've missed you." Tonks said quickly.

"And hitting somewhere else or hexing me wouldn't have worked?" Remus exclaimed.

"Nope. Slapping is more dramatic." Tonks chuckled before sitting down, still smiling.

Remus cautiously took a seat in between Fred and Lily, across from Tonks and her dad. Fred smiled at him happily and Lily hugged him.

"How the heck did you get out of that one mate?" Sirius asked. "And what did you need to get."

"I jumped. From the window." Remus said. "I knew the house was about to disappear so I jumped. But, a piece of wood whacked me just before it blinded us all. I went flying and landed in a dangerous part of here. And what I had to get is not important anymore since I lost it in the woods.."
