Everyone was in shock from the latest events; Especially with the Sophia accident for most of our group. Although, Hershel and his family were shocked too as the walkers we killed were their family. None of us could have known as they were walkers and showed no resemblance whatsoever. Beth went into shock a little bit ago and nobody knows where Hershel is. As we were looking in the house for anything to show us where Hershel could have gone, Shane found a flask.
"Is he visiting an old friend?" Shane asked Maggie, she shrugged her shoulders.
"The only place I can think of him being is Hatlin's Bar." Maggie said, Rick and Glenn went outside and I followed them. I was still limping but I decided to man up yesterday when everything happened, I can't have people looking after me all the time.
"If you're going then I'm going." I said, they all looked at me.
"No, your leg is still bad." Glenn said, I shook my head and sat in the car. They will only try to talk me out of it.
They all sighed, Rick and Glenn in the front while I was sat in the back. As they drove through the town, we passed many walkers that thought they could chase the car but they only got left behind.
--
Eventually we reached Hatlin's and when we walked in, we saw Hershel sat with his back to us and a glass of what looked like whiskey in his hand.
"Hershel" Rick started, Hershel didn't turn around.
"Who's with you?" He asked.
"Glenn and Tori." He said, Hershel sighed.
"Did Maggie send them?" He asked, referring to Glenn more than me.
"No they volunteered, they're good like that." He said.
"How many have you had?" I asked, I saw a half full bottle on the bar.
"Not enough." Hershel answered, he seemed to have no emotion to his voice.
"Let's finish this up back at home." Rick suggested, Hershel didn't move so Glenn carried on.
"Beth collapsed, is in some sort of state." He explained.
"Must be in shock." I said, I looked around and saw that the bar must've been pretty popular back before the world practically ended.
"I think you are too." Rick said, I'm not sure that this plan will work.
"Maggie's with her?" Hershel asked, I think he is avoiding going home but he doesn't understand.
"Yeah, but Beth needs you." I said.
"What could I do? She needs her mother." Hershel said, he is taking this hard and I don't blame him.
"Or rather to mourn like she should've done weeks ago, I robbed her of that, I put her in a barn and said they were sick." Hershel spoke until Rick cut in.
"You thought there was a cure." He said, trying to make Hershel feel better.
"Can't blame yourself for holding out for hope." I said, pitching in.
"Hope? When I first saw you running across my field with Tori in your arms, I had little hope she would survive." Hershel said coldly. I am right here, talk about rude.
"But she did." Rick said, neither of them acknowledging my presence.
"I did." I said, for the first time, Hershel turned and looked at me. He nodded and turned back around.
"Even though we lost Otis." I added.
"Your man Shane made it back and we saved Tori." Hershel said.
