"You can come hang out with us at the Nasty Burger," Tucker suggests to Lizzie, and the brunette nods her head.
"That sounds fun, but um--what's the Nasty Burger?" she asks hesitantly.
Tucker puts a hand on her shoulder, "Only the best fast food restaurant ever! You have to try the Nasty Burger's famous fries--or burgers or maybe--"
"Tucker!" Sam shushes him, and glances at Lizzie, "Don't listen to him, his food choices are--questionable."
"Questionable?!" Tucker exclaims, and I laugh at his reaction as Sam continues.
"Now, salads, that's another story," Sam says, and adjusts her backpack's straps, "It's better to go green than go meat."
Lizzie smiles, "Yeah, I do like salads rather than meat but--"
"Sam's an ultro-recyclo-vegetarian," I explain to her, "While Tucker over here is obsessed with meats."
"Interesting friend group you got there," Lizzie comments, and brushes aside her straight brown hair, "I didn't have a ton of friends--living in the country and all--"
"Well welcome to the weirdos group," I say to her jokingly, and Sam rolls her eyes at me.
The Goth shrugs, "That's the nicest thing I've ever heard."
"Really?" Lizzie asks in disbelief.
Tucker nods, "You should hear the names Dash calls us--weirdos is a compliment."
"But in all fairness," Sam says, tucking her black hair aside, "Weird is a good thing, it's better than--trends."
"You don't like trends?" Lizzie grins, "Same here."
"Hey new girl," Paulina's voice interrupts the peace and quiet in the restaurant. "What are you doing sitting next to these losers?"
"Told you, 'weirdos' was a compliment," Tucker mutters to Lizzie, and she stifles a laugh under her hand.
Lizzie brushes aside her hair, and looks up at Paulina, "Who are you exactly?"
Paulina scoffs, and throws her hair over her shoulder, "I'm Paulina, who are you?"
"Lizzie Sherman," our new friend shrugs slightly, and I'm surprised at her nonchalance. Most people are usually spooked by the popular girl.
"Just know that these losers, aren't meant to be hung around. Their disease spreads," Paulina sneers, and her faithful follower, Star, snickers in the background. "Lizzie, just know that this offer stands and you can come hang out with us. You have--potential."
"Okay," Lizzie nods her head at Paulina, "I'm gonna have to refuse it though. I'm starting to like these guys."
Paulina looks shocked as Lizzie turns her down, and points her nose in the other direction as she huffs before heading in the opposite direction of our table. Sam congratulates Lizzie for her daring bravery towards the popular girl. Lizzie fit in well with our group--surprisingly, and seemed to have a knack for making others feel comfortable around her. With the whole evil magician thing going on, she put me at ease.
Lizzie acted a lot like a tomboy but not completely with a sweatshirt and messy hair. It was a tough sort of way when she carried herself with a confidence. She wore dark green long sleeved short tops, which matched her eyes and ripped shorts with tights underneath them. Much like Sam's tights she wore practically all the time--not that I notice those things. It was surprising for Paulina to want someone like Lizzie to join the popular group. Lizzie definitely wasn't like Paulina who cared more about her appearance than anything else in the world.
