I rush forward, immediately removing the pen from behind my ear and sketching knives in the air. At least ten knives float beside me, so with the flick of a wrist I send the weapons hurtling towards Danny. My mom's spider slams a leg into the ground as it keeps Danny's two friends busy.

I smirk wickedly as he limps away from the knives. He can barely move. Here's my chance to kill him once and for all.

Don't do it, my human half says, and my arm stops in its movement. I'm not going to let you.

"Shut up," I shake my head, trying to clear her voice.

You're doing well, Lizzie, Dan whispers, Now take him down.

"With pleasure," I send more knives in his direction.

I'm not going to let you do that! my human side stops the knives and scatters them into the ground. This revenge has taken over our lives! We left behind friends in Circus Gothica--all you ever care about is killing Danny!

"It hasn't taken over our lives, it's our motivation to live--mom is a motivation to live," I retort back to her. "Mom is our motivation, our inspiration--"

I can practically see my human half's emerald gaze grow sad, Our burden.

"Are you saying our own mom is a burden to carry around?"

Our mom isn't the burden, but the revenge has been, Lizzie Sherman says, We've been at this for years. When was the last time we just relaxed somewhere for a second?

"We can relax after we kill Danny," I clench my teeth, trying to form an ectoblast but my arm won't rise. "After this is all over--we can finally be free from constantly tracking down the Ghost Boy. We--no I will rule over this world and the Earth. I'll destroy you with my own hands. I will be happy."

Happy? Are you sure about that? my human half asks, You can't kill him, Lizzie. It's not the right thing, I realize that now. Mom would be happy if we just let it go.

"I-I can't," I whisper.

Don't let her win, Dan whispers into my mind. You have to be strong. You're letting your weaker, human half win this battle and you have to be strong for your mom, don't you?

I know you're listening to Dan right now, Lizzie Sherman says sharply, And I know that what he's saying probably sounds like it makes sense--but listen to me. We aren't like Danny--we're the same person. Being the same person, you have to trust me. Look around.

My eyes circle the clearing. The spider smashes down a leg near the green haired ghost, and Dani blasts away at the creature's furry back. Cracks appear along the rock's surface with each smash into the ground by the spider. Yells can be heard from the circus tents and wails from ghosts with each earthquake of spider movement.

"You're a part of me too, and we both wanted to kill him," I growl at my human half. Danny is now watching me yell at my human self. "It's our goal--we have to kill him."

Do we have to? No one said we have to kill him, my human half says to me.

The truth hits me. Mom didn't say that we had to kill him. I'm so lost in thought, I don't question my arm rising on its own to write something in the air. Suddenly fire races across my skin, and instead of looking down at my boots--I'm staring at white high tops. Sitting at my feet is a Fenton Thermos, which I had drawn in the time where my ghostly half had been distracted.

"Lizzie--what are you doing?" Danny crawls over to me, and painstakingly slowly rises up to stand.

He gestures towards the Fenton Thermos in my hands. I smile weakly, "Sorry I didn't expect her to put us back together again." Her dark energy remains in my mind but I could sense her thinking about what I had told her. "I would've asked you to grab one of your Fenton Thermoses, but I had to make one myself."
