Chapter 13: Our Past Memories

Chapter 13: Our Past Memories

Tsuki POV
We were racing through the trees trying to catch up with Sasuke since he became too eager, wanting to defeat Gaara all by himself. It's a death wish if you tell me. Not one person in their right mind would want to challenge three sand genin, especially one who could kill you in a matter of seconds. So now here we are trying to reach him because that's our mission, follow Sasuke and help defeat the Sand Siblings.

If you're wondering how were following him, it's because Kakashi let one of his ninja hounds lead us. So it's Pakun, a pug, Naruto, a over excited knucklehead, Sakura, a overly obsessive fangirl, Shikamaru, a lazy genius, then there's me, a loner with social problems.

We were running silently on the tops of tree, well not really. Naruto kept yelling to hurry up, he really wants to go help Sasuke.
Am I the only one who's not eager to get themselves killed?

All went well except for the part that there were a group of chunin and higher chasing after us. Shikamaru told us about it and Pakun confirmed it.

"Someone needs to stay and lead them off the trail. The only question is who" Shikamaru informs us.

"I'll stay" I immediately said.

"What?! Tsuki you can't be serious?" Sakura cried.

"I am. I'm not needed. Pakun is needed to track Sasuke's scent, Naruto because you're the strongest out of all of us, Sakura could treat to Sasuke's wounds and Shikamaru is the genius who makes the plans. I'm just the extra piece, the outcast" I explain.

"That's true, but I'm the only one who could stop them. My Shadow Possession Jutsu is specifically made for diversions like this" Shikamaru explains to me and the others.

"Shikamaru" I say concerned.

"What a drag, just hurry up and help Sasuke" he said.

We all turned and kept moving on, all except our lazy clad of a ninja. I could tell that Sakura is highly doubting him. He may be lazy and unmotivated, but he'll put up a fight if it's willing to help his friends. And I know that Naruto believes in his lazy friend.

"The ninja are still coming after us, are you sure your friend didn't just run away" Pakun says to no one.

I keep moving through the trees ignoring his accusation, as I run past them I saw fear written across my sister's face.

When will she learn that this world isn't so peaceful and that it's filled with hate and sorrow?

"Let's keep going, we can't waste any time" I said as I rushed passed them.

"Right, dattebayo" Naruto said as he raced past me.

I sweatdrop at the knuckleheads actions.

"Hey calm down, we don't want to rise suspicion to any enemies that may be in the premises" Sakura shouted after us.

Well maybe you should be faster.

It wasn't long until Pakun felt multiple chakra signatures. He told us that it wasn't human. That information made Sakura a bit more squeamish. So not wanting to risk ourselves we took a detour and went around the area.
