Phoenix POV
Texas looked so beautiful at night.
Phoenix flew past several buildings a second, speeding towards his target. Minutes passed, and he finally made it to the small house in Houston Texas. Phoenix spread out his wings, and glided on the roof of his house. The young Sorcerer closed his eyes, and the his wings dissipated into a cloud of minuscule flames. With ease, Phoenix jumped off the roof, and slipped through a nearby window.
He crawled throughout the house, searching for the two boys, destined to be Phoenix's students. He had been watching them for months, waiting for them to be together one night, when everyone was asleep. That day has finally come.
Phoenix slipped into the closest room, and found one of the boy's bedroom. Max was fast asleep, snoring the volume of a mouse. Phoenix frowned, the boy didn't look like much. He was short from the looks of it, maybe thirteen years old. He wasn't fit in the slightest, and didn't look like he could harm a fly. This, "Max Blazen" wasn't much of an apprentice, nor guard at all. But he'll have to do.
Phoenix balled his hand into a fist, and the sleeping boy floated into the air, the blanket flying with him. Now to find the other boy. Phoenix strolled out the room, Max floating beside him, still sleeping.
Phoenix, just like any other Sorcerer, was assigned an apprentice to carry on the legacy. However, since Phoenix was a prince of one of the most powerful tribes, the Phoenix Tribe, he was also assigned a head guard. Phoenix was never told who was who, he was just told their names, and their location. It has taken him almost half a year to find these two boys, Phoenix was going to finish what he started.
The room next door to Max's was another bedroom, with a small cot. Lying on the cot was the second boy, Adri Gladius. Surprisingly, the boy heard Phoenix walk into the room, and looked up from the cot. His eyes widened, and he jumped out. Before his feet touched the ground, Phoenix lifted him into the air next to Max. Adri cupped his mouth with his hands, and tried yelling, but nothing came out. With the snap of his fingers, Adri was out like a rock.
It was time to get out of here. Phoenix grabbed the note he made earlier that night, and dropped it at the doorway of Max's room. With that, Phoenix regrew his wings, and sped out the house, on a one way trip to Arizona.
That morning, Max's parents awoke to find a note where their two boys were.
Hello parents of Maxwell Blazen,
Max is a very special boy. I was told by my father, the king of the Phoenix Tribe, that he is to be apart of my kingdom, along with Adrian Gladius. One is destined to be my head guard, fight the wars no human could fight. The other is supposed to be my student, learn to be a proud member of the Phoenix Tribe. I cannot reveal where we are, nor who Max and Adrian are to become. I can only say that their lives are safe in my hands. Please forgive me, do not fret over these two boys. I swear on my life, my kingdom, that they will become the beginning of something great. Something magical.
Thank you.
Phoenix
