Has a red shirt ever ended up in your washing machine with a load of whites?
What happens?
Pink socks for everyone.
The red shirt may not seem to fade much, but it sure leaves a mark on everything around it.

The same thing happens qhen you spend a lot of time with the people who do things that go against God's law of love. You begin to pick up their "hue". Consider using God's name as a curse, for instance.

This may not be a habit you've struggled with, but after spending time with people to whom it's second nature, you may not notice it much anymore. It may even seen humorous, at times. The next thing you know, words you never thought you'd say are slipping out of your mouth.

This doesn't mean you should never spend time with people whose values differ from God's.

You can't love people without spending time with them. But if their habits begin influencing your own, watch out. You soon may find yourself in hot water.

"Good company and good discourse are the very sinews of virtue."

II Corinthians 6:17-18
