Stepping reluctantly into Brody's house, I look up to be greeted by two smiling faces. Must be Brody's parents. The woman is short, has bright blue eyes, and silky blonde hair. She's beautiful. And the man, who looks like a much older version of Brody,is quite tall, has dark brown hair, and brown eyes.
Yep. Brody's definitely a daddy's boy.
"Hello sweetheart," the woman begins, "You must be Natasha."
"Erm, yeah, that's me," I reply timidly.
"Brody's told us so much about you, in fact, he never stops talking about you," his mum says politely. I look over to my right to see Brody blushing as red as a tomato.
Ooh. Blushing eh.
Brain, can you please not?
"Oh, let the poor girl breath," Brody's dad says to his wife, effectively bringing me out of my thoughts.
"Do you see how they treat me Natasha?," she questions, wiping away an imaginary tear from her beautiful face, mocking hurt. I let out a laugh at her childishness.
She will get on well with my mom.
"Clearly I'm not wanted here, so I'll just be in the kitchen," she continues, before sauntering over to the kitchen. From the corner of my eye, I see Brody smile gratefully at his father, before mouthing a 'thank you'. In return, his dad nods at him, before giving him a thumbs up. He then proceeds to wink at him.
Huh? What was that all about?
I don't even think I wanna know.
"Okay, Brody, why don't you take Natasha into the living room, and watch some TV while we set the table," his dad suggests.
"Oh no, Mr Dallas, really it's fine, I can help you out if you want," I politely offer.
"No, no, no, you are our guest Natasha, we'll be fine," he tells me.
"Are you sure?," I ask.
"Yes, now Brody, take her inside please," he says to his son.
"Sure," Brody replies. He then takes my hand, and takes me to his living room.
As Brody takes a seat on the very comfortable looking couch, I stand there awkwardly, not knowing what to do.
Here's a suggestion. Sit down.
You again.
What do you mean. I'm you.
Just go away.
Sit down first.
No. I'm not going to make myself comfortable, as if it's my house.
Just........
"Hey Natasha, why are you standing? Come sit down," Brody's voice cuts off my conversation with my internal self.
"Ok," I reply, before taking a seat in the place next to him. Brody smiles at me, before switching on the TV, and scrolling through the channels. None of the channels were showing anything interesting, so we just settled on watching the news. Two minutes later, after the commercial, the news is back on, and the female reporter begins to read it out.
"Good evening, citizens of Westbrook, tonight on Fox News, we have an update for you, on the Midnight Murderer. Police have been investigating the most recent crime scene, the home of Timothy Green, and have found the very first lead, that could help them get to the bottom of this investigation, and catch the murderer once and for all. Evidence suggests that, during the murder of Timothy Green, there was not only one, but multiple people. The police have not yet released the official crime scene reports, so we do not know exactly how many other culprits there were. But , thanks to this latest lead, we can now confirm, that the Midnight Murderer is not working alone. This news has brought more danger than ever to the citizens of Westbrook. We urge the police to get to the Culprits as soon as possible, so that Westbrook can, once again, be a safe place. This is Melissa Hill reporting to you live from Fox Studios, goodbye and goodnight", she finishes.
