Graduation Day

Chapter 20

Callie's POV

  Three months later... Graduation Day

This is it. Today is the day where I walk the stage and my future begins. I can't wait. Everyone takes their seats and the ceremony starts. Every senior is called up to the stage in alphabetical order one by one. Before I know it, I hear Monte and Lena announce mine and Brandon's names. We both go up together and get our diplomas. We shake hands with Monte and hug with Lena. As soon as we get back to our seats, we grin like fools.

It takes another twenty five minutes before every senior has walked the stage and gotten their diplomas. There are two hundred and twenty of us. Somewhat of a small class, but to me just the right size. I don't hate people, but I don't get thrilled by being surrounded by too large of amount of them.

Lena looks towards all of us. "Unlike most schools, we are not going to bore you to death with ten similar success speeches. So without further a do, we present the class of 2016." We all throw our caps in the air and cheer. I loved Anchor Beach, but it's wonderful to be off to bigger and better things with my favorite person to exist besides Jude of course.

Lena runs off the stage immediately to hug us even tighter along with Stef, Mariana, Jesus, Jude, Mike, and AJ. They tell us that we're going out for a nice dinner tonight at Olive Garden, which is fabulous. I love that place so much. I have been there since I lived with Donald.

      That night... dinner...

Stef interrupts all conversation. "I know how you all get bored of sappy speeches so I'll try to make this a short as I possibly can. Tonight two of my babies are now adults going off to college quite soon. In fact, they are moving to L.A. in just a few weeks. I know how excited both you are, but know that even though we will all miss you guys like crazy, we are so proud of you. You both are so smart and talented. You'll go far in the music industry and UCLA is one of the best foundations to pursue a career in that field. You're allowed to come home and visit anytime you want. We'll also come to L.A. and visit too. So let's eat this amazing food and celebrate this special day."

We raise our forks in an act of cheering. Everyone eats in a peaceful silence. Not all silence is bad. In fact, the blissful kind is often a good one.

Hoped that you guys liked this chapter! :) -Mary
