Chapter 4

Brandon's POV

    Callie heads up the stairs. A thought to sing her a song crosses my mind and I gently run up and grab her arm. "Callie wait, before you go to bed there's something I'd like you to show. Can you spare a few minutes?" She smiles. "Of course. Now show me." 

    "Callie I know it's been awhile since I've done this, but I'd like to sing you a song. It's one that truly describes my lingering feelings for you." I turn on my keyboard, play the intro, and jump into singing Not Over You by Gavin Degraw. 

Dreams, that's where I have to go

To see your beautiful face anymore
I stare at a picture of you and listen to the radio
Hope, hope there's a conversation
We both admit we had it good
But until then it's alienation, I know
That much is understood
And I realize

  Callie looks at me in awe. "I'm amazed at how you never seem to give up on me Brandon." I blush and smile. "I couldn't even if I tried." Our stares linger for a few seconds longer before I release her to the land of sleep. I head to my room and plop into bed. All I know is that I won't be sleeping much tonight.
