chapter twenty-one

Alex had sweet talked his manager into letting him off early so he could spend time with us. Josh wasn't too happy about it and it definitely didn't seem to be Tom's favorite news of the night. The rest of the time we all chit chatted. I eventually talked Alex into letting me sit in a chair of own so I could eat my food. It was actually pretty hard to convince him. He was having way too much fun driving Josh nuts and making Tom jealous.

“So, what are we going to do now?” Josh asked.

You could tell he was itching to get out of there.

“I don't know, but let's do something fun! Where we can see the sights.” Jenifer said.

“Any suggestions?” Jackie asked.

“Well, they do have this really cool spot on the beach. It's separated from the rest. There are a bunch of fire pits. You can rent a spot and just enjoy yourself with a bonfire on the beach. It's right off a beautiful spot on the coast where you can see all the city lights and even the Hollywood sign.” Alex suggested.

“That actually sound like a lot of fun. It could kind of be like a mini beach party.” Charlie said. “You are coming right, Alex?”

“Uh, of course! I'm not telling you about this awesome spot just to be left out of the party.” Alex scoffed jokingly.

“Great you lead and we'll follow.” Jordan said as Josh was too angry to talk.

“Here's your bill and enjoy your night!” Tara said.

All the boys went for the bill it ended with Tom, Alex, and Josh having hold of it.

“Ohh.. Cat fight.” Andi said.

“I've got it guys. I can use my employee discount.” Alex smiled.

“Right, well, it was my suggestion that we go out so I feel that it's really my treat.” Tom said.

Josh let go and everyone looked at him.

He shrugged.

“They've clearly got it covered.”

“Right, Tom, I've got this one. I haven't seen them in forever. It's like a welcome to Hollywood Meal. On the house and all that.” Alex said.

He looked to Delilah and winked. The message being Alex was just tempting Tom for the hell of it. I rolled my eyes and silently laughed. Tom caught this innocent exchange though tugged on the clipboard holding the check.

“Well, this is a kind of cast party so I'd really like to do my share as a thank you for the wonderful part.”

“Alex, just let him pay. He can afford it.” Josh sneered.

This of course pissed Alex off a bit. I mean come on! The guy just suggested that Alex couldn't afford it. That would be an insult to anyone man or woman. It was just worse that it was man. The testosterone was fuming between them as they glared at each other silently.

“Hot damn.”Jenifer said.

“If looks could kill, right?” Andi said.

“Seriously. I've had enough. I want to get to the beach before the sun rises.” Jenifer said getting irritated at the pointless argument.

Delilah leaned over the table removed the slip of paper from the clip board and stalked off to the front desk.

The boys kind of just looked at each other and than followed Delilah.

“Dee, I've got this.” Alex insisted.

Delilah ignored him and paid for their meals.

They all walked to the parking lot in silence.

“How you holding up?” Rupert whispered.

I just gave him a “Are you seriously asking me this?” look.

“Right. Well, we'll see how things go tonight.” Rupert gave a crooked smile.

I didn't really get what he meant. Obviously, things weren't going to go anywhere. I mean, Tom is with Andi! And from the looks of it he seemed quite happy about his choice.

“Uh oh.” Rupert said.

“What?” I asked looking at him come to a hault.

“I forgot... Dan and Jess took my car.. and probably are shagging in the hotel tonight.” Rupert said.

Tom cursed.

“This is what we get for trying to come to the terms of sharing.” Andi laughed.

“Well, hey, you guys can stay with us tonight.” jenifer said.

I turned around faster than anyone could blink..

WAS SHE OUT OF HER MIND!?! … wait. I could answer that. YES.

“That sounds like a great plan! It will be like a big sleep over!” Charlie pipped in.

I glared at her as well.

“I've got tons of blankets and pillows and am willing to share.” Charlie continued with a smirk.

Damnit! I didn't have enough eyes to cast the glares I wanted to!

“Sounds like a plan than. You lot are staying at our tonight.” Jordan spoke up confirming their invite.

I looked over to him and could see a knowing glint in his eyes. Damn him for secretly having the psychic powers of understanding a woman's wants and needs!

“Right, Rupert you wanna ride with us?” I asked.

“There isn't enough room" Charlie pouted.

“Oh.. uhm...” I pondered.

“He can ride with us.” Tom said.

“Awesome! And Delilah will ride with me.” Alex said dragging me to his car before the others could protest.
