We walked slowly back to the audience room we were booked in. Just before we enter the brightly lit room I took a deep breath. This was turning out to be an adventure alright. One of those adventures where the author thinks it's more meaningful to kill off the main character in the end.... or just make them suffer a shit load before they find themselves at peace... I had a feeling mine would be the one that ended very badly. It seemed when ever it involved Tom things would always end badly...
“You sure you are ready to go back in there?” Jess asked.
I knew she already knew the answer to that, which was along the lines of 'hell no! I'd rather spend the night in a creepy haunted house and wait for a sparkly vampire to frolic about...' (sorry twilight fans. I'm bram stoker vampires all the way... when my sister and I rival about it though i'm definitely team jacob...) at least when you come out of something like that there is a relief that you are coming back to a better safer place of being... you know what I mean? Like you are coming back to the place that makes sense. That was saying a lot for me considering I was obsessed with things that confused people... like the rubix cube... which I still had not figured out. >:(
Anyway, I just smiled at her. There was nothing else I really could do that would make this act more convincing. I could just open the doors with a smile. That's exactly what I did.
“Hey, sorry about that.... scene earlier... just..” I turned to Tom and Andi “You both did such a wonderful job! You'll both be perfect for the roles you've been placed! I could really feel the... the chemistry and how real it felt. It was great!” I praised them.
Andi lit up at the praise, but Tom just studied me skeptically.
“That's awesome! You guys got yourselves the part with approval of casting director and author!” Tamera applauded. “Next up Richardo's Rejection scene.”
We watched through the rest of the audition scenes with the co-stars and Andi. (seeing as she was the main character she was in all the scenes.) During it all I kept a blank gaze on my face as I slumped down in my chair watching my book be played out before me. I was watching intently, but not intently enough to where I didn't feel a gaze burning into me. I casually looked to my side and saw Tom resting partly on the table with his head propped up in one hand looking at me. Not giving a care in the world about how obvious he was. He was just looking. I smiled at him and gave a slight wave. Then... Just then, I caught a glimpse of THE most devious smirk I've seen Tom ever muster. I quickly turned back to my previous seat position blushing massively. What was he possibly thinking for him to make such a face? I mean it was bad boy sexy, don't get me wrong. Just.... WHAT WAS HE THINKING?!
I watched the rest of the scenes continuously and inconspicuously glancing through the curtain of my hair over to Tom, who not once took his eyes off me! Jackie tried to get his attention every now and then grazing her arm against his, and “accidentally” dropping her something. Nothing worked. Her attempts were futile just as were my attempts to ignore the fact the he wouldn't stop staring at me... My face was probably going to be as red as a tomato by the time we got out of there.
