A waitress named Tara came and seated us at a table pulling two more together.
“I have three more people coming. I hope that's okay.” Tom smiled at the waitress.
“Sure thing. Why don't I get your drinks down and you guys can look at appetizers while I get them and snack on those 'til your friends get here?” She smiled
We all happily agreed and looked over the menu while continuing pointless chit chat. I... gazed, I guess you could say, at Tom over the tip of my menu. He seemed to be looking intently at the menu while he sighed heavily. As if chosing an appetizer was such a chore. I was so self conflicted. Did I care about him and Andi being together? If so, why? I left him. I rejected him... I had my chance.... Who am I kidding? I rejected him sure, but there was so much more behind it. And none of it had to do with not liking him as much as I did. It's hard to just... jump into something like that... to drop what you have here and start a new somewhere else. I know he would've insisted on so many things, but I don't like people paying for me... it's not the “I'm a girl and I'm just as equal and have as much power. Blah blah blah. I can pay for myself with pride.” shit. It's the whole. I don't like having to be in debt with people thing. I never even let Jessica buy me ice cream for pete's sake! So how was I gonna let Tom do so much more than just buy me ice cream? It was safe to say he has never left my mind. Moved to the back, maybe, but never left. Like I said... I was never good with goodbyes.
“Here.” Someone said as a napkin hit my face.
I moved the napkin to see Jackie glaring at me.
“Th-anks?.. I think.” I said setting the napkin aside.
“It's for the little bit of drool forming at the corner of your lips.” She sneered.
I blushed. She had seen me staring at Tom.
Jessica threw the napkin back at Jackie.
“There, wipe that crap off your- oh wait.” Jess stopped short.
“Yeah, Jess, I think that IS her face.” Andi finished earning a high five from Jenifer, while Charlie busted into snickers.
I still blushed massively.
“So, you guys ready?” Tara came back asking.
“Honestly, I haven't a clue.” Tom said.
“Would you like more time?” Tara asked
“Oh no. I think I will just wait for the main course.” He smiled.
“Alrighty.” She smiled back and turned to us. “How about you lot?”
“Cheese fries.” Josh said closing the menu and handing it to her just as Tom did his.
“I think I'll wait as well.” Jordan smiled.
“Halipanio Poppers.” The girls and I said at the same time.
“Okay,” Tara laughed. “Cheddar of Cream cheese?”
“Cream cheese.” We all said in unison again.
“Are those good?” Andi asked.
“Are those good?!... Andi... have you ever been to a T.G.I.Friday?” I asked astonished at such a question.
“Er, no. I don't think we have one of these back home.” She said.
“Oh. my. God. Andi you def. Have to try some. I'll get the large order of it and you can have a taste. If you like I'll totally split with you.” I smiled.
“What if she doesn't?” Tom asked.
“That's what to-go boxes are for.” I smiled.
“And you miss?” Tara turned to Jackie.
“I'll have a salad.” She smiled. “Italian dressing.”
“Okay, it will be right up.” Tara said taking everyone's menu and rushing off to put the order in.
It had not been long before out appetizers were brought to us.
