That's My Phone...

Piero POV
After I'd changed into a t-shirt and some jeans, I exited my room and went out to where the audience was seated some time ago. I went to the seat where that girl was sitting and something was lit up under it. I bent down and found a phone with a pink case. I assumed it was hers, but it could have been someone else's. No, it was definitely hers because there she was running around the corner with a panicked expression on her face. She froze when she spotted me and her gaze dropped to my hand where her phone was sitting. She slowly walked toward me and stated,

"I see you found my phone." Her voice was unlike anything I had ever heard and I was instantly intrigued.

"This is yours? Why would you leave it here?" I asked teasing her.

"I left it here on purpose, so I could come back and look for any money that was dropped on the ground. Unfortunately, they already cleaned the place up pretty well."

I smirked and handed her back her phone.

"Thanks," she stated and turned to leave, but I stopped her by putting a hand on her shoulder.

"What is your name?" I asked her.

She turned and replied, "No comment," with a smile and began to walk away.

"Come on, you can't leave me hanging." I slumped my shoulders and in a last attempt called out to her as she was exiting the theatre, "Can I at least have your number?"

She paused at the door and turned her head back. "You'd have to give me yours first."

"Deal," I responded with an eager smile.

We swapped numbers and I stated, "You'll have to tell me your name now. How will I know this is your number?'

"Just put 'That one weird girl'" she said with a laugh.

After hearing her laugh I say, "Hai una bella risata"(you have a beautiful laugh).

"What? Dude, I only speak English," she explained and it was my turn to laugh.

"Well I gotta go. It was nice talking to you," she said before leaving.

I wanted so bad to make her stay, but instead I dryly responded, "Have a good night."

Destiny POV
On the way back to the car I couldn't stop smiling. When I got back in the car my mom looked at me like I was some rare space creature and asked,

"Why are you smiling? Did you find your phone?"

She was looking at me funny because I NEVER smile, but tonight was a rare occasion; I got Piero Barone's personal cellphone number!

"Yeah, I got it. I just left it on my seat." I left out the part about getting Piero's number because if I told my mom, she would make a huge deal out of it and I hate bringing attention to myself.

"Are you sure you didn't leave anything else?" My mom asked annoyed.

"Nope. Let's just go back to the hotel. I'm exhausted." I lied. I had never been more awake and it was highly unlikely that I would be able to fall asleep tonight.

Piero's POV
Since I first woke and all through breakfast, I couldn't stop thinking about that girl and how I would never see her again after today because we were heading back to Italy tomorrow. For the first time in my life, I knew what it felt like to be addicted because I was dying to see her again. I sat on the edge of my temporary bed and pulled out my phone and finally had the guts to text her. "HEY WEIRD GIRL, I STILL WANT TO KNOW YOUR NAME."

It wasn't long before she replied and said, "HEY ITALIAN, I ALREADY KNOW YOUR NAME. GUESS I HAVE THE ADVANTAGE."

I was in the process of giving her a snarky remark when Ignazio walked into my room and caught me smiling. Ignazio raised an eyebrow and said, "Who are you texting?"

I put on a serious face and reassured him, "No one, Igna."

Ignazio clearly didn't believe me and said, "Come on Piero. You know that you can't lie to me. You're looking at that phone like Gianluca looks at nutella."

I couldn't help but laugh and admitted, "Okay, I'm talking to that girl from the concert."

"Ooh, you got her number!" Ignazio said with excitement.

"Yeah, but not her name."

Out of nowhere Gianluca rushes into the room and asks, "Are you guys ready to head back home?"

Ignazio looks at me and says with a wicked smile, "Piero's not!"

"Shut up, Igna!" I scolded him.

Gianluca narrowed his eyes and asked, "Is there something you guys aren't telling me?"

Finally Ignazio did something useful and got Gianluca off track.

"We were just talking about how all the girls were checking you out during that concert last night."

Gianluca batted his eyelashes and commented, " While I am pretty good looking..." and walked out of the room.

After Gianluca left Ignazio turned to me and asked, "So what are you going to do about that mystery girl?"

I sighed and ran my fingers through my hair; something I do when I am stressed. "I don't know."

Ignazio crossed his arms and stated, "You have to meet her. For real this time. Ask her out on a date."

My eyes widened and I raised my voice a little. "Are you crazy?! She probably already went back home."

Ignazio then stated while pointing at my phone, "Why don't you ask her?"

"Alright, but if she's gone then I am going to kill you for giving me false hope."

Ignazio sat down on a chair and began to surf through the tv channels while I texted her.

"HEY, R U STILL HERE IN LA?" I clicked the send button and she quickly replied.

"YEAH, MY MOM WASN'T FEELING WELL, SO WE'RE STAYING FOR ANOTHER DAY."

I beamed excitedly and told Ignazio, "She's still here."

"Then what are you waiting for? Ask her out already!"

"I WAS WONDERING IF U WANTED TO HANG OUT LATER, IF YOU'RE NOT BUSY."

"SURE, BUT I CAN'T TAKE MY MOM'S CAR."

"NO PROBLEM, I'LL PICK U UP."

"WHAT TIME?"

I checked my red watch and asked, "IS 2 GOOD?"

"YEAH, SEE U THEN."

I smiled, but it quickly turned into a frown and I asked Ignazio, "Igna, what will I wear?"

He shrugged, "Just dress how you always do." After that last suggestion he headed toward the door. "I'm gonna go pack my bags."

I quickly jumped up and began to rummage through my suitcase, looking for something to wear. I decided on a more casual look with a black shirt that had some red on it, loose blue jeans, and my red glasses. As I was finishing up, my phone lit up and I ran over to it. Mystery girl sent me directions to the hotel she was staying at. I hadn't even thought about that. I guess my thoughts were clouded by the fact that I would get to see her again. I checked my watch again and it read 1:48. I ran over to Ignazio's room and asked, "Can I borrow your car for a few hours?" It was a rental car, of course, but something was better than nothing.

"Yeah, I was just going to stay here for the rest of the day anyway." He handed me the keys and I quickly thanked him before heading out to the parking lot.
