Dez POV
I awoke with the strong desire for waffles. Piero was gone, again. I have no idea where he goes in the morning, maybe for a jog. So much for good morning kisses. I snuck to the kitchen like a ninja, but there was no point because the house was quiet, almost too quiet. In the kitchen I warmed up 12 waffles. Yeah, I really wanted waffles. I poured syrup over my tower of waffles and laughed maniacally. Gianluca came into the kitchen wearing sweats and a simple t-shirt. His face wrinkled up in disgust when he saw my magnificent tower. “Ugh, what are you doing?! There is no way you're going to eat all of those. Here, give me a few-” He reached for them, but I smacked his hand.
“No, they're mine.”
“Fine, just give me two then.”
“Uh, no. I want twelve waffles and if I give you waffles, then I won't have any left for myself.”

He narrowed his eyes at me and then he seemed to remember something. “Oh, you guys haven't done it yet! It makes so much more sense now. You're going through that stuff. Yeah, sorry. I'll just leave you alone. I don't want you to have another mood swing while I'm here.” He shuddered at the thought, snatched an apple from the fruit bowl, and darted out of the kitchen. What was that about? We haven't done what yet? Who's we? Piero and me? And what mood swings? I'm not having mood swings…
Suddenly angry, I got up and tossed the waffles in the trash. I can eat whatever I want! Who is he to tell me what I can or can't do?! I screamed, threw the plate at the wall, and watched as it shattered into pieces. What did I just do?! I went to pick up the pieces, but cut my hand on a sharp chunk. I howled in pain and ran over to the sink to rinse of the blood. What is happening to me?! To make things worse, some guy put his arms around my waist, clearly not Piero because this dude's watch was on his left hand. Heh, I'm such a creep, noticing the smallest details…
I stomped on his foot and elbowed him in the side and he let go of with a groan. I turned to see Reece, holding his side.
"Reece? What the heck are you doing?!"
"I sensed that you were in 'distress'."
"Distress?" I asked, majorly confused.
"It bothers me to see you this way. What do you say that we go over to my room and I'll help you out-"
"No, leave me alone you perv!"
I ran past him and into my room. I don't want anyone else to see me this way, especially another guy. I sat on my bed, wondering what was wrong with me. There was a knock on the door and Piero came in. Look who finally decided to come back. It's like he teleports or flies. OMG, what if he does? Wolves don't fly, you imbecile.
"Hey, Dez. I already talked to Reece. He won't be bothering you anymore, for sure."
"Am I sick or something?" I asked him, worried. I gasped in horror. "What if I have Ebola?!"
"Dez, you're fine, but there's something else. Your body is acting this way because, well, we haven't fully mated yet..."
I narrowed my eyes at him. "What's that supposed to mean? Does there have to be like a sacrifice or something?"
"NO, we have to, um, you know."
"I thought Ignazio was the one that says 'you know'. You probably hang out with him too much."
"I mean, we don't have to if you don't want to. I don't want to be rushing or anything..."
"What are you babbling about?!"
"Mating with you! What else would I be talking about?!"
"I don't know. I never know what you're talking about, but I just nod and go along with it!"
"Really?"
"No, yes, what were we talking about? I don't even remember..."
"It's a natural thing you're feeling because we haven't mated." He seemed to find a crack in the floor very interesting and wasn't looking at me.
"So it isn't a sacrifice? I was really looking forward to that, as long as it isn't a baby or something. A pig would be good. We could dump the blood on some girls at the mall-"
"And you say that you don't understand me. Mating is when-"
"Ooh, is it like birds? When I was little, I saw two birds and I was all like 'look mom, they're fighting' and she's like 'no, they're mating'. I was so confused. Rough love, bruh."
"Why am I even trying to talk to you. You never listen to what I'm saying and you're saying a bunch of random crap."
"Wow, someone's on his period."
"What? Nevermind. It's just, this is a big deal."
“You need to stop worrying so much. How about we go out later, like to eat or something. You look like you could use some time out.”
“Yeah, you're right. There's this cool restaurant downtown and they make the best pasta…”

Vico’s POV
“How is my marvelous plague coming along?” I asked the two head scientists involved in making the “disease” that would “kill” all the humans and turn them into vampires. In my opinion, I am granting them a wonderful gift and giving them the opportunity to become immortal. At least I wasn't just going to kill them all and leave their corpses rotting and destroying my world. I'm giving them a greater purpose; to aid and forever serve the mighty king before them, aka ME.
“It's going quite well. We are making excellent progress.”
“Have you been able to fix that one flaw?”
“Which flaw, your Highness?”
“You said that the disease has no effect on the wolves and I said that I wanted you to modify it so that when they are exposed to it, they die, rather than turn like the humans would.”
“Apologies, sir, but we were unable to modify it in such a way. Perhaps we could create a different concoction just for that purpose-”
“NO. I want it all in one. Like the soap I use to make my hair look this awesome. It's not a lot of annoying, separate, individual soaps, but instead, just one. I demand that you fix this problem NOW.”
They continued to stay glued in the same spot, petrified at my outburst.
“Leave this instance vermin before I rip you to shreds myself!”
They scurried out the door as my favorite person was entering. Antonio  was the great man responsible for all the military and such. It was always a pleasure speaking with him, seeing as he enjoyed inflicting pain as much as I did.
“Antonio, my man! What's up?”
“I'm here to inform you that we’re all ready for tonight, your majesty.”
“Oh, the attack. I totally forgot about that. How many are you taking with you?”
“200, like you suggested.”
“Perfect. Since you're going to strike in the dark and don't have sunlight as an excuse, I am positive that you will succeed.”
Antonio nodded and was about to leave, and I gave him a quick reminder, "Don't forget, you are to have no mercy on anyone in that house. He had the chance for mercy, but he lost it. Have fun killing them!”

Dez POV
“Are we going somewhere fancy?” I asked Piero as he combed my hair and I sat in his lap. It was quite calming and felt very nice.
“It's kinda fancy…”
“Like dress fancy or blouse fancy?”
“You can wear a dress. You never know who you might see or if there will be paparazzi.”
“Ooh, I'm definitely going to wear a dress, so the other ladies that see me get jealous.”
I started to hum the song “Me Too” by Meghan Trainor and laughed.
