Dez POV
I didn't wake up until 10 am and slowly tried to crawl out of the bed. If you would have saw me, you would have crapped your pants in terror. The curtains were closed, it was pitch black, my hair was down and full of tangles and knots, and my arms and legs were tangled in the blankets. Talk about scary. I fell off the bed and groaned, then zombied over to the restroom. I squinted when I turned on the light and looked at my neck in the mirror. There was a huge bruise where the bite was and, holy shit, my eyes!!! I cried out in horror and began to sob. They were blue! "Yeah, so what," you say? They were HAZEL!!! I look like an alien! I couldn't take my eyes off the mirror. What is happening to me?! I sobbed as I got into the shower. I wailed the whole time because this was too much to deal with. I'm a f'ing werewolf with blue eyes! I got out of the shower and rubbed my swollen blue eyes. How ridiculous.

"You lucky girl, I wish I had blue eyes!" -other girls.

Me: "F U. I loved my hazel eyes!"

I started going downstairs with shoulders slumped in defeat and halfway down, tripped over my dragging feet and rolled down the stairs. I stayed lying on the floor at the base of the stairs sobbing pathetically, not even bothering to get up. Piero must have heard me thumping down the stairs because he came over to me from who knows where.

"Geez, Dez are you ok? What are you doing?!"

"I fell..." I mumbled into the carpet.

He picked me up as if I weighed nothing and looked into my eyes. I looked down at the floor.

"What's wrong?"

I kind of lost it after that. "What's wrong? What do you think? I'm I'm..." I muttered. "A monster."

"Dez-"

"Look at me! I'm not even me anymore. I'm a stranger with blue eyes! I hate it!" I'm a weird kind of person that gets extremely angry and just starts crying. I wanted to break something. I was so frustrated.

"Do you want to go out for a walk and get some air?"

I nodded and followed him out the back door. We were walking in the forest quite a ways from his house, but surprisingly, I found it calming and I didn't even feel lost.

"So what can I do that I couldn't do before?" I asked Piero while carefully climbing over a fallen tree.

"Well, you have an increased sense of smell, hearing, and vision."

"So if someone farted a mile from here I could smell it?"

Piero laughed. "Sure, if you wanted to."

"Do I have x-ray vision like superman?"

"That would be nice. No, you can just see clearer and farther."

"Can I turn into an actual wolf, or do I just have fangs that come out?"

"If you learn to control it, you can just bring out your fangs, but if you tried now, you might turn into a wolf."

"How do I do that?"

"Turn into a wolf?"

"Yeah. Tell me your secrets oh wise one."

"It's instinctive. You just do it..."

"Wow, that's so informative. You're such a great teacher," I said sarcastically.

"Well I don't know. I've been doing it my entire life-"

"That's what she said," I muttered with a smile.

"You have a dirty mind."

If only you knew...
