17: We've Gotta Communitcate

Sasha's P.O.V.

During the night i called Elizabeth to drop some food off for me and to check on my little brother for me. Mattie was asleep in my arms and i wouldn't have it any other way. She was coming home tomorrow and soon we could hang out. Privately. I just needed to break up with Star. How though, she seem's really interested in me. Sucks she was a babe but she's not Mattie. I sigh as i kiss Mattie on the cheek before falling asleep.

"Milk chocolate is better!"

"No white chocolate is better. Have you ever had it before?"

"No? Milk chocolate is still better."

"Nope you'd have to take both before you make that grand decision."

"I can't believe it."

"Well believe it."

"YOU'RE FUCKING CHEATING ON ME WITH THIS SLUT."

A picture of star pops into my head and i open my eyes keeping myself still still feeling Mattie on me.

"Did you really just wake me up? I was having a debate with Beyoncé and she was saying Milk chocolate was better."

"I don't care. Why are you in here Laying with this tramp?"

I rub my eyes and look over at Mattie who's cowering into my arm. I hold her hand under the blankets to make sure she's okay.

"How'd you find me?" I say ignoring her question.

"Your little brother told me."

"You went to my house?" I say controlling my anger. My house is not the safest place.

"Yes. I knew you'd get sucked in like all of those other helpless hoes she's had her hands all over?"

"I guess i am."

"You bitch." She says to Mattie since she can tell i really don't care. " I can't believe you stole my girlfriend. You have your own girlfriend you selfish cheating witch."

"I guess she is." I say squeezing Mattie's hand. "Must be part of her charm."

She gives us the death glare and i give it back. "I'm breaking up with you."

"Okay." I say interlocking our fingers under the sheet.

Star acts like she's going to say something but thinks against it and walks out the door.

I kiss her head and she looks up to me. "We're leaving in a few minutes so i'm going to start getting ready."

She was crying. Tears rolled down her cheeks and she burst into sobs she must've been holding in.

"Shit." I murmur under my breath. I gather her in my arms and hold her close. "Okay Mattie we've gotta communicate, tell me what's going on in that brain of yours. Please cupcake, you're killing me watching you like this."

She looked up at me, her eyes watery. "She- she's going to make your life hell and its my fault. You're going to get hurt by her and... I'm to blame..." Her shoulders were shaking as she took shallow breaths.

"No, don't worry about me i can handle myself trust me." I say remembering all of the fights that have caused me to gain the i don't give a fuck stamp. "I will get through whatever she brings if you are by my side."

She frowns and sniffles. "But... she..." She trails off before looking up at me and crying more. "Thank you... thank you so much, but why?"

"Because i need you. I've known that since the first day i seen you. I'm not letting you go again Maddie." I wipe her tears away and look into her eyes. "So you're gonna have to get used to me being connected by the hip."

She smiles, still kind of crying, and grips me tight around the waist for a hug.

"Y'know, I meant it."

"Meant what?" I say watching her curiously drawing circles on her exposed arms.

"Wh-when I said I love you. I don't want to scare you away but after today, you should know that I will always love you." She giggles. "And the song just popped into my head..."

I nuzzle me face in her neck and smile. "You should sing."

She blushes and kind of jumps at the tickle of my face on her neck.
"Uhm, wh-what song?"

"Doesn't matter." I mutter in her neck.

She blushes and nervously begins to sing Hello by Evanescence. The sad words make me think of what could've happened if she had died. Her mouse-ish voice eventually turns loud and beautiful. She must be getting comfortable. I stay there until she finish singing and at the end i kiss her neck.

"We gotta get ready to go home. Do you want me to leave while you change or..."

She stares at me for a second before shaking her head. "Y-you don't have to, I mean, you've seen me change before..." She's still embarrassed but she looks happy.

"Well if you don't want me to than ima stay right here." I say patting the bed. "Plus your clothes are in the bathroom, i don't think you want strangers to come in and see you half naked. Not a problem for me since i'll be seeing a sneak peak of what's in store for-"

Mattie rushes up and goes to the bathroom to change and i start silently laughing until she comes out and sees me and i can't hold it in anymore.

"I'm sorry." I say in-between laughs. I get up to hug her and she crosses her arms across her chest.

"Geez... you're so weird."
She kisses my cheek and picks up the gifts before heading out the door.

"You forgot your phone." I say running after her.
