The Horrible Dream

It was almost dawn, and I was still up trying to figure out how to start my history paper. We were assigned groups, and within those groups, each person had to write a paper about a historical figure. Our group got assigned Abe Lincoln. My job was to write what he did for America, and what he is most famous for. I had no clue, and personally, I didn't want to do this at all. But being the straight A student I am, my parents would have a fit if I skipped an assignment on purpose. I typed in 'Abraham Lincoln was known for freeing the slaves. But what people don't realize is that the slaves weren't actually free until the next Presidant came into power.' Leaning back in my chair, I dropped my head and deleted the horrible sentance I had just written. "Why can't I write this stupid thing." I groaned chucking a pencil at the screen, only to have it come flying back at me and smacking me in the head.

"Nice one." I heard my older brother laugh from behind me. He was only an asshole when his friends were over, I guess it was that time of day.

"Way to go Jess." I heard one of them say from behind me. I stuck my middle finger up, making sure they saw it. "Oo, that hurt right here Jess, right here." I heard Daniel say as I heard him place his hand on his  chest with a loud smack.

"Whatever Daniel, just go fall off the roof already, I dont have time for your stupidness." I admit, that was a bit rude, but I was under a lot of stress, and I didn't need Brad's stupid friends making fun of me again. It wasn't long after that that I heard their footsteps accend up the stairs and Brad's door shut. I decided it was time for a break, I mean I had been working on this for at least twenty maybe thirty minutes. Pulling out my phone, I texted my best friend Jane as I plopped down on the couch.

Hey, Whats up!? I need to get out of this house!! I frantically texted her, hoping she would be able to get me out of here. It wasn't long after that before I got a text back,

Meet me outside. Five minutes.

Where are we going?

Shopping duh! I laughed, as I slid my phone in my back pocket and went to the front door. Grabbing my bag, I yelled up the stairs

"Brad, Jane and I are going shopping be back later." I heard his door open,

"Whatever!" Then slam shut.

"Love you too." I whispered, walking out the door. The coldness was an unusual warm weather of Nashville, Tennesse. Normally people move here for our sunny and warm weather, from the look of outside, people couldn't wait to get out. Shaking my head, and pulling tighter on my over coat, I walked to Janes car that was waiting for me across the street. "What the hell is going on with the weather?" I asked as I got in and blasted the heater.

"I have no clue. When I first came outside this morning, it was so hot you would melt, and now its so cold you could catch frost bite." She said. Looking out the window, I saw frost covering the windows already. I shook my head and forgot about the coldness, I couldn't wait to get to the mall, and start shopping already. "Ready?" Jane asked looking over at me. I watched her turn the car off before nodding my head. We got out of the car, and made a run for it. As soon as we got into the mall, we looked around. It was like a tornado went through it. "Ooo, free stuff!" Jane yelled, running to the closest store, and rummaging through their clothes. The windows were smashed, glass was every where, and the merchandise looked like it had been picked up and thrown out of the stores.

"Jane!" I yelled, causing her to stop what she was doing and look up. "Just because this place looks like hell, does not mean were going to shop lift!" I warned her. "For all you know, there could have been a shooting..." I looked around, but I couldn't find any bullet holes. "And for all you know, I still work here." I rose my eyebrow at her. She threw whatever was in her hand down on the ground with a groan.
