I could feel the the leaves crunching under my feet, in the distance I could hear the villagers yelling "vampire!" I ran as fast as I could, but the faster I ran, the slower I felt my body moving.
"I have to get out of here." I whispered to myself. Stopping in my tracks, I looked around. Nothing but blackness.
"Jess!" I heard a familiar voice yelling to my right. Weary, I followed the voice into the darkness.
"Hello?" I asked, looking around. There was no answer. I continued walking towards the faint whispers, that seemed to recede farther into the darkness wit every second that ticked by. "What the fuck am I doing here?" I asked myself as I looked around for something familiar, some kind of light, nothing.
"Boo!" I heard someone whisper from behind me causing me to jump. I turned quickly on my heels, and ran out of the darkness that was caving in on me. As I was running, I tripped over something and feel straight to the ground. My head was spinning, my heart was pounding, and the blood was running through my veins. I wanted to get up as fast as I could and run, just run. It didn't matter where I went, as long as I got away from there, but my feet wouldn't move. I couldn't stand up, it was like I was super glued to the ground. Within seconds of hitting the ground, the villagers were circling me. Their torches flaming in my face, their screams ringing in my ears. What did I do, why was I running, and what the hell is going on? I looked around at the faces of the villagers, their evil smirks made a shiver roll down my spine. It reminded me of the night my father died. He was a normal lad, but one night he just disappeared. We had know idea what happened to him, but I had the worst feeling when I heard the news.
"Vampires can only be killed with either a stake to the heart, or a silver bullet!" One of them said, I was guessing the leader.
"A silver bullet kills a werewolf, not a vampire." I hissed, digging my nails into the dark ground. Grabbing ahold of dirt in my hand, I felt different. "I knew you were an idiot, but I didn't think you were this stupid." I laughed. My laugh sounded familiar, not like I knew who it was but like I had heard it before.
"Shut up!" The guy yelled, hitting me in the face with a shovel. I thought what was going on was weird, but when I realized I didn't even feel the hit, I knew something even weirder was going on. I looked up at him, and just laughed.
"You don't get it do you?" I asked, still laughing. Looking back down at the ground, I let my nature take over. The guy looked down at me,
"Why are you laughing... And what don't we get?" He asked, gripping the shovel tighter. I could tell he was getting even more angry and the flow of his blood through his veins made me both hungry and sick. Hungry because I wanted it, but sick for the same reason. What was going on with me, he last thing I remembered was going to bed and now I'm back in the witch trial days? "Tell me!" He shouted, shoving the shovel into the ground right next to my hand. I grabbed the blade of the shovel, making it cut me. Watching the blood drip from my hand, I smiled. The cut on my hand heeled just as quickly as it was made. I looked back up at him as I floated to my feet.
"Even if you kill me... Which you won't... The clan will come after you." The villagers looked at me, astonishment in their eyes. I looked up at them again, this time an evil smirk on my face, "boo." I laughed. All the villagers dropped their weapons and began running. "Oh, I love chases." I said to myself. I turned and began running, without effort of course, and one by one I caught them all.
"Help! Someone please help!" I heard the guy from earlier yell. I could tell he was out of the woods and trying to get the help he was begging so much for. I turned and ran to where he was. Jumping up, I landed in front of him. "Oh shit..." I heard him whisper to himself. I slowly looked up, I could feel my eyes shift color. I watched him as he turned on his heels and ran back into the woods.
"Awe, I'm tired of this." I growled and ran after him, and grabbed him by his collar and threw him onto the ground. "I said I'm tired of chasing you." I growled into his ear, throwing him against the tree. He slid to the ground with a loud thump. Laughing, I took off my jacket and turned back around.
"What are you going to do?" He asked, his voice trembling.
"Well, I'm a vampire. What do you think we do?" I laughed, starring at him into his eyes.
"Please, no." He begged. I didn't listen to him, I bent down next to his left side. I looked down at his neck, and saw the blood pulsing threw his veins.
"You are going to be my desert." I sighed, leaching forward I bit into his neck. Shaking I woke up, in a cold sweat. I felt beads of sweat roll down my forehead and neck. "Mom!" I yelled. I heard footsteps leading to my room, just before my door opened.
"What is it?" She asked, worry in voice.
"Just a bad dream." I said, looking down then back up into her eyes.
"It's ok sweetheart." She said, hugging me and rubbing small circles on the small of my back.
"It felt so real, I just wanted to make sure I was home." I sighed. Knowing I was safe in my bed, not in those creepy woods made me feel so much better.
"Are you alright now?" She asked, pulling back and looking me in the eyes. I forced a smile and looked back at her.
"Yeah, you can go back to sleep now." She looked at me, before giving me a reassuring nod ad walking out the door.
"I'll just be down the hall if you need me." She said, closing the door. I listened to her footsteps pad away from the door and then her bedroom door click closed. As I laid back down so I could go back to sleep, I felt something slimy and icky on my hands. I sat back up and turned the lights on. Looking down at my nails, I saw mud and dirt caked into them.
"What is going on?" I asked myself. I stood up, walked into my bathroom and begone cleaning the mud off my hands. No matter how much I scrubbed, it wouldn't come off. It seemed to multiply the more I scrubbed. "Shit." I cursed under my breath. There was a bang in my bedroom. Turning around, i took a quick look around my room, "who's there?" I asked. "Mom?" I couldn't see anything or anyone. To frightened to go back in there, I shut and locked the door. As I fumbled with the lock, I noticed the mud and dirt on my hands were gone. There was another bang and I jumped nearly out of my skin. When I jumped, I slipped and hit my head on something, and that's how I found myself laying in the bath tub the next morning.
