Once we reached my house, we slowly sauntered our way to my bedroom. I sloly grabbed my duffle bag and began throwing things in it, not really caring how they went in. "Man this is crap." I sighed, sitting on the bed and slowly letting myself sink to the gournd.
"I cant believe your mom is making you leave after one thing." She groaned. I watched her as she fell face first into my pillow. I couldn't help but laugh.
"Jessica, are you almost done packing? Your plane leaves in three hours." My mom yelled from the base of the stairs. I gave it some thought before I realized she had booked my plane at 5. I'd be getting to Forks around 11 in the morning. I jumped up off the floor, and ran out into the hall.
"You mean I only have three hours to pack!?" I asked competely shocked. Normally it would take me a lot longer to pack. If she wants me to live with my Uncle for the rest of senior year and the summer, then why would she only give me three hours to pack?
"Yes, I had called Charlie and he couldn't wait to see you so I made your flight as soon as I could. I could have made it two hours earlier." She warned, looking at me. I groaned, but walked back to my room. As I opened the door, I saw Jane unpacking my things.
"Jane, you need to stop." I laughed, grabbing a pair of my jeans from her hands and throwing them back in the bag. "I have to be packed, at the airport, and on the plane in three hours." I grabbed everything I could at once, and shoved it in the bag. Now that I realized I didn't have that much longer to pack, I really didn't care how my clothes went in the bag, I just wanted to pack them and get this done already. I had finally packed practically all my belongings, when my mom came in to make sure we were almost done. Looking at the time on my phone, I realized I only had about an hour left to get to the airport before the plane took off.
"You done packing?" I heard her ask. I looked up at her and slowly nodded my head. Her face looked sad, but she motioned for me to come along with her. Jane and I walked to my moms car, waiting for her to start the car, we idily chatted.
"So, whats the first thing you're going to do when you get to Forks?" Jane asked.
"Probably sleep, take a shower, then sleep more." I laughed. I heard Jane chuckle, but she was still looking down at the ground.
"So you're cousin is Bella?" She asked. "Is she pretty?" I groaned, of course she would ask me that question. Everyone thinks that because her name is Bella, that she is a girly-girl who is pretty and always wants to do makeup and go shopping.
"Yeah, shes pretty. But shes a total tomboy." I answered looking over at her with my head on the head rest.
"What do you mean?"
"Like, she likes guy stuff more than girly stuff. She'd rather go dirt biking than shopping. Rather hang out with guys and be weird than with girls and get their makeup done, you know?" I rather missed Bella, she was one of the few people that actually understood me. She knew exactly how I was, she knew I wasn't like those girly-girls in our town, and she was just like me. I think thats why we got along so well, because we were just like the other.
"Oh, yeah I get what you mean." I heard Jane laugh. Smiling, I just laid my head back a little further and listened to the soft country music my mom and turned on, and the wind blowing my hair back. When I got home, I had taken my hair out of its braid and put it in a high ponytail, and even though it was pulled back I could still feel the wind blowing through it. It felt good, comforting, like I was home and safe. I knew this was going to be just a dream, something I could wish for but never really get back. I would be in cold rainy Forks, Washington and not here in sunny and beautiful Los Angeles, California. I was going to miss my mom, my friends, and even this god-awful school of mine. But most of all, I think I was going to miss Jane. The random sleepovers we had, the nights we talked about the hot celebrities, and the guys she wanted in her bed at that particular moment. I knew I would always find comfort and laughter in those memories.
