The Phoenix
Phoenix, Oh Phoenix
Where do you fly?
Your wings are strong and your talons scratch the sky.
Why then, Oh why do you cry?
Are you afraid to die?
For you fall from the sky and burst into flames,
And when you smash against the rocks,
Only ash is left behind.
Phoenix, Oh Phoenix
Do not fear death!
For from the glowing embers and ash,
You rise with head held high.
And you fly away, new but the same,
And your lonely cry comes echoing,
Across the sky.
