At Journey's End

I have traveled a thousand leagues.

Beyond the distant mountains and seas.

To falls that freeze and isles that float.

I've ridden the clouds in a silver boat.

I have fought a thousand enemies.

From dawn to dusk.

They fought with tooth, claw and tusk. Some flew with black wing.

Now they hide and of my fierceness they sing.

I have escaped a thousand fears.

With strength and cunning.

They would lock me up, but by the dawn would find me running.

And soon they fled before me, screaming.

Now I lie on this sandy shore.

While my life blood seeps from a thousand wounds and my strength is drained.

My journey so long ago started is now at an end.

I shall travel no more, This is the end of my story.

It is over; it is done, And come dawn I will be gone. Faded with the stars.

My life nothing but a song and a breath of wind over my bones.
