"What are we going to do today?" I asked while jumping up and down on Oakley's bed. The boys were still sleeping in the movie room, but I was up and ready to start the day and I needed to know what clothes to wear.
He laughed and sat up in bed, "It's six o'clock in the morning, Tara"
"I know, and I want to know what we're going to do today."
"I was thinking that you, me, the guys, and Daniel could go play paintball with some our friends from school."
"Oh! That sounds awesome! I've never played paintball before. And that way I can meet some people before school starts!"
"That was the plan."
"Where are we going to play?"
"The woods behind the house, it's where we always play."
"Okay! Let's get going, I'll wake up the others and you call your friends. Let's start playing at like seven."
Then before he could start arguing about seven being too early I ran out of his room and across the hall into Daniel's room.
"Hey, babe, you need to wake up like… now!" I said as I started jumping on the bed. He didn't move an inch, was he dead? That would totally suck if he died, I mean I was starting to like him.
As a friend, you know, not the other like.
I continued to jump on his bed, waiting for him to wake up when an arm shot out of no where and grabbed my ankle I fell with a yelp and landed right on top of Daniel.
"Hey you," he whispered.
"Hi," I whispered back.
He looked good in the morning. I mean, he always looked good, but somehow this was more natural. His hair stuck up in all directions and he had a lopsided smile on his face.
I stared at his lips for a moment before bringing my eyes up to look into his own brown eyes. He darted his eyes from mine to my lips and back again.
It was almost as if he was asking for permission for something, I must have given him the permission that he needed because he leaned closer to me.
