The ride to the airport was a quiet one, dad and Jessica were still on their mini-vacation thing, so Holden was driving us.

By use I mean my boys and me, Oakley and Daniel had opted to stay at home.

Apparently Oakley wanted to have a discussion with Daniel.

Hah! Discussion my ass.

We had all somehow squeezed into Holden's jeep.

Holden and Aaron were sitting in the front seats. Brayden, Joey, Gavin, and Carter were all squeezed into the backseat.

And Me?

Well, that's simple. I was lying across their laps and holding on for dear life so I wouldn't fall to the floorboards every time we went around a curve.

No one was really saying anything because we were so sad about my boys leaving. But now that I think about it, it would have made sense to talk about things, because the silence just made it worse.

When we finally parked in the parking lot I refused to get up.

"Tara, Chica, you need to get up," Gavin said.

I shook my head and tried to force myself to become dead weight.

"Sweetie, Come on," Braydon said softly, "You're making this harder than it already is. Do you really think that we want to leave you?"

I shook my head, I knew they didn't, "Can't we just turn around and pretend you missed your flight and then you can stay with me, forever?"

Carter shook his head, "Squirt, we have to go back to school and our families. As tempting as staying with you forever is, we have to go back home."

I pouted, "You'll come visit me?"

"Well duh, and - "

"The door swings both ways, you know," the twins said.

I smiled sadly, like my dad was ever going to let me fly out to California, it just wasn't something he would be too keen on, Brayden seemed to realize this, "Or we'll just come visit you as much as we can."
