I was wrong.

Dead wrong.

Horribly wrong.

When I had been in the kitchen of Braydon's apartment I thought happily about how I would be a mother in a few short hours.

It's been three long and painful hours and I'm still not ready to have this stupid baby.

"This is the last time I EVER go through labor!" I screamed as a new contraction racked my body.

Carter was by my side in an instant, placing a cool, wet cloth on my burning, sweaty forehead, "Taryn, you know you don't mean that," he soothed as he ran his fingers through my hair.

"Hell yes I do! This is not worth it! No wonder people want to adopt children!"

"But just think," Joey chimed in, "this baby will look just like you."

"I was an ugly baby," I muttered angrily.

Gavin snorted, "Well let's hope this baby didn't pick up many of your genes then."

"It better be a good looking baby or I might just decide that all of this isn't worth it."

"Then what will you do with the baby?" Aaron asked.

"Leave it here," was my angry response.

"I don't think you can do that," Gavin responded.

I looked around the room, "Where's Braydon?" I asked, concerned that he wasn't in here anymore.

The boys all glanced at each other, looking uncomfortable, and no one answered me.

"Where is Braydon?" I asked through gritted teeth.

Carter shifted his weight from one foot to the other, looking extra uncomfortable, "He's... umm, in the bathroom," he said.

"Right," Gavin said, nodding, "He's having some constipation issues at the moment. Don't worry, he'll be back before the little sucker pops out."

"He better be," I growled.

"Well, of course he will, it's gonna be hours," Joey said cheerfully.

I groaned, "Somebody hit him for me."

Aaron, Gavin, and Carter all reached out and hit Joey upside the head.

"Ow," Joey whined, rubbing your head, "I was just trying to reassure you that he'd be here. Jeeze, I'm sorry. I didn't know going into labor turned girls into bitches."

I glared at him.

"Alright," he sighed before hitting himself upside the head before anyone else could.

"I'm sorry I'm being such a bitch," I said softly.

"Don't worry," Carter said, reassuringly, "We all know how tough this is."

"Well, not really," Aaron interrupted, "We can't have babies."

"But, just by looking at how much pain you're in I think we can all say that we're glad that we are not in your situation," Joey said.

"And we'll do anything we can to make it easier," Gavin added looking pointedly at Joey.

"Yeah, anything," Joey agreed.

"Then get me a doctor!" I screamed as I got another contraction.

Gavin pushed the nurse call button repeatedly while Carter gave me his hand for me to squeeze during the pain of the contraction.
