A year from Finnick's reaping. I wear the same dress as last year. My second reaping is today.
We walk to the Justice Building and we get our blood shots.
I don't listen to anything except for the name calling.
"Annie Cresta!" Vanessa calls.
"Do we have any volunteers?" She asks when Annie is on the stage.
"I volunteer as tribute!" I yell.
"No!" Finnick yells.
When I reach the stage, I see Finnick and Annie together, with a worried look. I have to look confident for them.
"Now for the boy tribute!"
"Matthias Matthews!"
Matthias looks worried too. I just hope that I can get back to Finnick and Annie soon.
I am quickly escorted into the Justice Building. I am brought into the same room that Finnick was in last year.
"Melissa." Annie says as she and Finnick walk in.
"Annie, I had to. I couldn't just let you in there. It would be just as painful as Finnick's Games." I say.
"I know." She says.
She and Finnick are forced to leave, and I'm alone. I receive no more visitors.
I need to win, for Finnick. For Annie. For Mother.
I just have to.
