I sit in mine and Annie's room, playing with the month-old baby boy Annie and I call Kendall Bay Odair. My nephew, Annie and Finnick's son. I just can't wait until this war is over, and I get to see Finnick again. Then, he can see his baby boy. His first child.
We hear a knock on the door.
"Come in!" Annie calls.
"You three are ordered in command." Says Haymitch.
Annie and I follow, with Kendall in my arms.
A few people are gathered in the room, all sitting around the table. We take our seats, with me next to Prim and Annie.
"As you all know, we have had soldiers from our Star Squad go into the battlefield. Well, some of them aren't coming home." Beetee starts
I hear Prim and Mrs.Everdeen gasp.
A slide show starts to play. "The fallen" it says.

I am in so much shock that I can't move. I can't cry. I can't do anything. My grip on Kendall pulls slightly tighter.
My brother is gone.
"I'm so sorry, Melissa." Prim says.
I don't respond. How can I? I just found out that he's dead. That he's gone. That I'll never see him again for as long as I live.
And his last words to me were "I will."
