Angelica left class early with another one of her friends in the friend circle. Her name was Amy, she was around 4'5 and had long burgundy dyed hair. As they left their last class which was algebra they took a stop to Angelica's locker only to find it jammed. So they left all her stuff in her locker and started setting up for the dance. Her group of friends really didn't have to do much. All anyone had to do was make duct tape roses and hang up the posters. A blue Eiffel Tower poster was taped up to the left wall next to the selfie station posters. Now it was time to change into her surprise outfit, a black dress with black tights and combat boots.
As the face went on it seemed to be going well until her ex best friend opened her mouth and told her heart retching news. Tessa liked Jake as well, the worst of it was that she accused Angelica of trying to steal him and another guy she was friends with named Daric away from her. Angelica only likes Jake and she has liked him since last year when they met at the regional science fair. As her thoughts about Tessa consumed her for the rest of the dance she tripped over someone's foot, heading straight for the floor someone caught her. Of course it was another close friend of hers, Daric. He helped Angelica back onto her feet as they were exchanging apologies. Something was off about him though. Daric was a tall blonde with short hair and blue eyes you could get lost in. He was still holding Angelica's arm from when he caught her, when she looked down she realized that she was holding onto his arm as well. It was almost as if they both couldn't bare to let go. Thanks to Angelica's best friend Ruby and her joking about the "googley" eyes they were making they both let go of each other. They stayed near each other for the rest of the dance.
The rest of the dance as a whole
seemed to slow down from there and Angelica wanted nothing but to go home and cry her worries away. Instead when she got home she just changed into her moping sweats and made a cup of tea.
'Is it bad to be jealous of someone who isn't even yours in the first place?' She thought. Tessa was much prettier than her, much skinnier too. 'How could Jake not like her? She's everything I'm not.' On the verge of tears Angelica decided to try and avoid talking to Jake for now on. 'It will avoid more drama and I should probably try to get over him anyways. There's no point in think about non existent possibilities of him liking my grunge self.'
