"Everyone, listen up," said Kita as she entered the large viewing area. She had recalled her three commanders from the surface to meet with her three new generals. With them, the Angels, and a few of the doctors waited.
Kita, all smiles, made her way to the front. Some people stood, others stood and saluted. Kita acknowledged them all in one way or another. She gave special nod to Mengele when he called out something. She enjoyed how he grated on Rommel.
"First, let me apologize for earlier. I got off on the wrong foot with our three new members with a rather garish display. I'm hoping we can start fresh and work together. I've called everyone her to introduce three new leaders whose experience I believe can help us bring about a swifter demise of our advisories. They are Generals Schwarzkopf and Patton, and Field Marshal Rommel.
"Generals and Field Marshal I would like to introduce you to my commanders. Commander Xeen of the Army of the Rose, the field army for the nation of Arcone. The next two are leaders command my forces. Captain McKee of the Black Watch and General Thorne, ranking field officer of the Black Legion. These three men make up the core of our command structure, with Snowy and I as overall commanders.
"My plan is to reorganize our army into two combined armor battalions, three infantry regiments, three air units, an attack squadron, a transportation squadron, and a special operations squadron, a special forces group, and a new command group.
"Field Marshal Rommel and General Patton are experienced and victorious army commanders who know how to use tanks. General Schwarzkopf will be in overall command, second only to me and Snowy."
The senior leaders protested, each listing the reasons why they should be in command.
Kita called for calm. "I understand you all are successful in your own right. Only one of you has ever commanded infantry, armour, special forces, and air at once. General Schwarzkopf has an impressive resume, including winning one of the most lopsided wars in one hundred hours. I believe he knows best how to coordinate everyone to be most effective."
Kita waited for that to sink in. "It will not be easy. Tank crews and helicopter crews are being trained here on the station and on the surface, but you'll have to mold them into a cohesive force on the fly. I don't expect you to do it overnight, but you'll have to do it in combat."
A map appeared on a screen behind her. "My strategy is simple. The goal of reaching the capital has started too bogged down into a stalemate. Instead, I want to shoot south and west to secure The Forges and the Red Legion depots there. Once we have secured those areas and their supplies, we can break the stalemate in the east. The southwest isn't well defended. The forest and the mountains block any reinforcements from Champagne. We can use this campaign to break in everyone. I will leave the planning to you. I plan on doing some raiding with the special forces deep in the enemy's rear to disrupt and steal things we need.
Now I would like to formally—"
Kita smiled. Snowy stiffly walked down the stairs toward her. She stopped in front of Kita and slapped her on both sides of her face.
"We need to talk," Snowy growled hoarsely.
Kita motioned for Thorne to take over. Grabbing Kita's hand, Snowy pulled her to the other Angels. "We all need to talk."
Snowy led them down to the small viewing area. Anthrax coaxed Frostbane into leaving. Closing the door behind the bear, Snowy turned and pinned Kita with her eyes.
"How dare you!" Snowy screamed. "How dare you use Jane against me. How can you say you love me so much and then turn and say if I leave you'll go straight to her?"
