That night I slept the best I had slept in a long time. All night, endless slumber.

When I woke I felt a slight chill. With a sigh I rolled onto my left side, expecting to cuddle into the man I fell asleep next to. Instead I was met by empty sheets. They weren't cold, just empty. At the moment I had to ask myself something.

Did I care enough to open my eyes?

Turns out I did care. I let my eyes open to allow some light in. A figure was sat on the end of my bed tying the laces on his boots. I frowned and sat forward, allowing the sheet to fall down, piling on my lap. Although I wasn't in my day clothes, I hadn't bothered putting on my pyjamas.

I slept in a sports bra and a pair of shorts, last night Leon had been in his boxers. It just reminded me of how comfortable I felt round him. Before I was terrified someone would see my scars. Now I know that Leon accepts them.

"Hey." I said. My voice was soft and slightly groggy from sleep. Leon turned and within the second he smiled.

"Good morning." He sighed back. Pure content was evident in his voice causing me to smirk inwardly. Possible outwardly. Whichever. Whatever. I was happy too, so what?

It took a second for my eyes to starry from his face and notice his jacket.

"You're leaving?"

He tilted his head slightly, still not allowing his smile to fade or even falter. "Well it is a four hour drive." Dramatically I sighed looking away.

Nothing happen.

Taking another breath I did so again, but with more feeling, rolling my head slightly to add to the point.

Still nothing.

Although I may have heard a small snicker. Take a hint Leon!

I went to suck in another breath but before I could Leon opened that mouth of his. "Something wrong there?"

I let out the air in a short puff. Good, I can breathe normal before I start getting myself all lightheaded.

"This is the part where you say we can go back to bed." I mutter giving him some big puppy dog eyes to top it off.

And yet... They didn't seem to be working.

"Alex." The gaze intensified. "I can't." Leon shuffled a little further back on the bed and reached for me. I shuffled to him. We shuffled together.

Leon put his arm across my shoulders and my head went to rest on his.

I sighed. "I know."

"I'll be home around 10."

"I'll wait up." I promised. Leon smiled at me, probably knowing the high odds of that not happening. Hey, I speak with hope but it's early and unless I get a nap then I'm going to pass out before 10.

That didn't seem to bother Leon. I was sure he would come by my room anyway even if just to lie down.

I kept holding on. His warmth made me feel happy. I didn't know anyone could feel happy at this ungodly hour. That lasted all of 30 seconds, until a pint sized alarm went off.

"Uncle Leon!!!" Maddie knocked and yelled, all around making a racket and eliciting a sigh from me. She was going to wake the whole house. A part of me was on side for that idea, after all if I was up they should be too. But the newly improved part of me told me that allowing everyone to be jutted awake by the kids yelling would be rude and not part of this new me thing I had going on in recent days.

"Go." I said tearing away from him.

"I lo-"

"See you when you get back." I interrupted. It was completely on accident but it happened.
