I managed to sneak out of my room a few hours ago. I made my way into the kitchen and grabbed a few bottles of whatever I could find just lying around. Alcohol, that is.

There's this thing about werewolves; we're not supposed to be able to get drunk. Most pack wolves have never been drunk, half of them are those people who fall over their own feet at parties when all they've been drinking is water, pack wolves simply don't know how to get drunk. The wolf side of us is capable of healing us, they will do it so fast that alcohol takes no affect - just the burn it has as it passes down your throat, and even then it only lasts for a second and then it’s gone with zero affect to us. Those who know are at a higher power in the pack, sadly I never had that power, but Cameron knew. As much as I now hate to admit it he taught me things, most everything really, one of those things being how to get wasted like there was no tomorrow.

As an omega, I am closer to my wolf than most. It increases both hers and my power. We're like two people, so for me it’s easy to identify the parts of myself that belong to me and the parts that belong to her. All I need to do is shut down the connection between my wolf and I. It may sound hard but trust me it’s not. It’s just as easy as when you stop paying attention in class. That's a barrier between yourself and reality, I just need to do that within myself.

Don't think about it too much, it only gets complicated in your head.

I sat on my bed for a minute and took my time pushing her out. All I had to do was lose focus, just a tiny little distraction that didn't involve anything to do with her. I was used to imagining darkness. Thinking nothing. Once she was gone I began drinking. It burned for longer than alcohol normally would but it never filled the gap where I usually felt my wolf’s presence.

After an hour I felt better. After two, I felt numb again, after three, I had forgotten. After three I felt better.

My door opened and someone walked in but I stayed laying on my bed. I saw Leon standing there. I groaned and took another slug from the bottle. I don't even know what I'm drinking anymore.

"Alex?"

"Leopold." I raised an eyebrow. He cautiously stepped forward ad pried the bottle from my hand. "Go right on ahead," I encouraged, "have a drink, plenty to go around!" My words slurred and I raised my voice.

"Are... are you drunk?"

I began clapping. "Bravo, someone fetch the prize for captain obvious."

"You're a mean drunk."

"What are you like drunk then?" I asked snatching my bottle from his hands, similar to a baby and their actions. It my bottle! If he isn't about to drink then I'm not going to let him hold me back.

"Never tried it."

"Well that is not going to do at all now is it?" I put the glass bottle on my bed side table and sat with my legs crossed waving my hand rapidly to tell him to come over. When he continued to just stand there like some kind of mannequin my head joined in so I probably looked like a horse. Ha ha, were-horse. Finally, Leon got the hint and sat on my bed. I took his hands in mine. "Now, listen to teacher, Let go! Like check out, you know? Separate you from the wolf," Leon looked at me like I had gone nuts. "Or of course there's always other ways." I sighed. The first time I got wasted Cameron took the other ways route. I didn't understand what to let go of or how to let go of it. It much less complicated in practice. All it takes is to piss off your wolf. Cameron told me a story about how it was possible for a werewolf to know whose mate was whose just by knowing both of their scents, however this information doesn't translate through to our human side, of course if someone really wanted to know they could simple surrender to their wolf but that's beside the point. The point is that a wolf will always be against certain contacts with a scented wolf so it’s pretty easy to piss them off, even just for a few hours depending on the wolf. You get where this is going, right?
