you wanted to make sure to look extra nice that morning, and knew your boyfriend loved it when you wore his clothes.
your boyfriend hadn't been able to see you for the entirety of summer break due to volleyball practice, and so on the last day, after you knew the games ended, you were going to go see him. you hummed, looking at the selection of clothes on your bed, trying to find something cute, but comfortable enough in because it was hot outside, and the trains always got humid and were crowded with sick people.
you picked up your favourite white shirt, deciding that would look good with your black shorts and sneakers, maybe your hair would be pulled back, and the jacket, well, the jacket you chose because it was your boyfriends. he loved it when you wore it, and it was so big, it wasn't actually hot if you didn't zip it up. and his favourite thing about it was the fact that nekoma volleyball club was across your shoulders and he said it made him feel safe because everyone knew, obviously, it was not your own.
you got more than a few strange looks as you rushed through the station, a bag hanging from your hand and you said soft apologies as you moved in the sea of people that had decided to get as much done on the last day of summer break. you hummed, playing music from your phone, looking through your photos, most of which were that of yourself and your boyfriend. the time you had gone to get ice cream and he tripped and smashed his own into his face, or the stray cat he had chased after, the time he had got a bit too enthusiastic when spinning you out in the rain and you had gotten so wet the two of you decided to jump around in the puddles, he was a good boyfriend. he didn't spend a lot of money on you or do fancy things or buy you jewelry, you just knew how he felt because he was so open with it, he told everyone, and he wasn't afraid to be himself around you and it hadn't taken long for you to completely and utterly fall in love with the dork.
it hurt, not being able to see him for a week, but you had to be patient to be dating someone as ambiguous as haiba lev.
you understood, your boyfriend was on the volleyball team and you couldn't have been mad because the track team had been practicing at a camp all summer as well, the instructors had given the team a weekend off to pamper themselves before school started up again.
your idea of pampering was spending the night at your boyfriend's watching a movie, and his sister didn't mind (you had texted her to see if it was alright) and his parents knew you were a kind and respectful young kid, and you tried to be polite but sometimes it was hard to hide the marks on the outside of your neck when lev got a bit...adventurous when kissing.
you pulled your hair back when you stepped off the train, following a strange path you didn't know very well because you went to nekoma, not shinzen. you were excited to see your boyfriend, because you loved him lots and he was adorable and adorned you no end, he always made you feel like you were the best damn thing in the world. there was nothing better for a teenager then being showered in affection and you had fallen for the tall child who found everything a bit too interesting and he looked at you with stars in his eyes when he laid beside you in the early hours.
those were your favourite nights, when neither one of your parents didn't seem to care too much when the other wanted to stay the night. it was staying up until early hours in the morning on the weekends and how his green eyes looked in the moonlight like you were his everything. those times were some of the sweetest, because he didn't hesitate to always say what was exactly on his mind, and usually, with your body tucked up against his own and his messy hair and you in his clothes, you were the only thing on his mind.
your phone buzzed with a message from yaku, asking if you were almost here or not because lev was staring to be difficult, and you smiled as you walked through the other school's gates. kuroo knew you were coming, yaku had told him and he didn't mind, if anything he probably only agreed to it because he could always tease you about how you were a second year dating a first year. you had a love hate relationship with your boyfriend's captain. it wasn't that hard to find the gyms they were using, and loud shouting and laughter caught your attention and you would have to thank yaku for telling you when the last set had ended so you knew when to leave your house.
