(he has a motorcycle!)
—
the first time you meet, he's an absolute mess and half in a pile of leaves outside the apartments. leaves of various autumn colours cling to his hair and tan skin, dressed in all black and he seemed to be looking for something. you couldn't help but stop and stare, the air was cold, you could see your own breath swirling in front of you. take out hung from your hand, a late night at the university library studying for an upcoming test.
he cursed under his breath, and it took you a moment, but you realised that he was looking for something and you couldn't help but crack a small smile. "excuse me?" he jumped, turning too fast and catching tree root, falling over and disappearing inside the mass of leaves.
your eyes widened and you set your bags down, rushing over to him, crunching leaves under fall rain boots (the rain had stopped around mid day, the leaves were still damp and cold). "you scared the shit out of me." he mumbled, a hand on his chest as he sat up, yourself burried a little below the one in pretty leaves.
and there's a moment, you think, that he stares at you and you stare back at him and you realise, maybe, his eyes are really pretty because they're all dark and they look gold under the awful light pouring in from the balcony above.he looks absolutely beautiful, it's corny and cheesy, but you couldn't help but take another step closer, dressed in baggy sweatpants and an equally baggy hoodie, the beanie on your head seeming, just as big. "do you need help? I noticed you were looking for something." you didn't quite know how to explain yourself, but your cheeks were red.
"sure, thanks." he seemed genuinely thankful and you extended your half and helped him up, turning away as he brushed himself off.
"what were you looking for anyway?" you began to search through the leaves, and you looked over your shoulder.
his face was set in a deep pout, hands on hips and his black jacket and jeans looked too good. "my roommate tossed my bike keys over the railing." he sighed, closed his eyes and he seemed fondly...proud? an armful of leaves and staring off like it was a big thing for his roommate.
right, bike keys? oh, he was the one that rode the motorcycle in the parking lot, made sense. "what did you do to piss them off?" you laughed, and he did as well, kicking aside leaves and still searching.
he sighed, tossing around leaves like a cat, he seemed almost too excited to go pounce around, keeping his eyes anywhere but you. "I didn't piss him off...he...just got annoyed." he sighed, and you could have sworn his cheeks went red. "what's your name anyways?" he mumbled, and you smiled and shook your head, returning to the search.
"it's (l/f/n)" your cheeks were red, and he laughed, straight into up and putting his hands on hips, grin too bright.
"I'm kuroo tetsurou! nice too meet you (l/n)." he extended his hand out, and he seemed so pleased, and you laughed as you shook his hand. what a dork...he was cute. especially with his hair sticking up everywhere like that, it was a mess.
so you laughed and turned back to the tree and your gaze caught shiny in the grass behind you and your shoulders rose. you walked over there and picked up the keys, turning them on your hands, kuroo leaning to see what had pulled your attention.he had a hello kitty key chain, and you clenched your hands around the keys, and smiled before turning back.
"your keys kuroo-san." you presented them proudly, and his face lit up, but he seemed a bit too bashful about it, laughing in a way that probably sounded too sarcastic but wasn't at the same time. he seemed almost like he was teasing, but you were too, so why not.
"and the knight in too big armour saves the day." he took the keys and you flushed, looking off to the side, hands stuffed into your sweats.
"it's lecture day, thursdays. I always get home late and am out all day but it's just class, I always dress comfy on Thursdays." and he barked out a laugh.
"I know." the minute it came out his face went red, and he covered his face. "um...kenma tossed my keys outside because he knows you come home at this time." you couldn't help but smile, he was cute, if nothing else."have you been stalking me kuroo-san?" you teased, and his eyes narrowed at you and you giggled. he seemed taken aback by it and it made your smile too grand. "got it." you mumbled, pulling your tiny notebook out of your pocket, you scribbled down your number and ripped it from the moleske. so as you walked back to your food and schoolbooks, you pressed it to his chest and he seemed dumbfounded. "call sometime." you admitted, a bit embarrassed to be making such a bold move but he pulled the paper from your hands and smiled down at you.
oh this was bad, this was bad.
"perhaps, (f/n)...I will."
he looked like a panther ready to pounce.—
(the first phone call was at two in the morning and it was because bokuto and kuroo were fighting over which kind of bird was better. kuroo needed you to take his side because bokuto had called akaashi and sleepy akaashi knows always to agree with bokuto.)
