Chapter Four
If the makeshift army thought getting the Parafont Beast's fang was a challenge then they had another thing coming, because getting into Adreabeth was a lot harder. Luckily while growing up Adelaide snuck out a lot, so she knew ways to get in and out of the castle that even the King himself did not know about. Not even Adelaide's brothers knew about the secret passageways.
The makeshift army made their way down the passageways under the castle in silence. Upon reaching a staircase, they heard voices. Adelaide and Arthur snuck up the stairs quietly. There were two guards guarding the serving quarters. Luckily the guards were facing in the other direction as Arthur and Adelaide approached them. Killing them was not a great challenge as fell silently to the ground. Arthur and Adelaide quietly retrieved their swords and the group continued on their way.
"Amelia" Amie almost immediately recognised the voice of her master and best friend. Amie wondered if she would ever see Adelaide again and the fact that heard her voice now made Amie very happy. Amelia looked around to see if any guards were watching and snuck off to follow the familiar voice she had heard.
As soon as Adelaide saw Amelia she ran and hugged her. Adelaide asked Amie what happened and if she was ok. Amelia replied "I'm fine but when we entered the city we got caught. Your family is in the dungeon". As the makeshift army thought of a plan, they did not see the fifteen guards coming up behind them.
The group did not even try to escape; they needed to give the leader the Parafont Beast fang. The guards threw the group to the floor of a big room, as an older looking man watched from a large table. "Do you have the Parafont Beast fang, or do I need to put you in the dungeon like the rest of the people who live in Adreabeth" spoke the man standing up.
"I'm your princess and you will respect me, when I get out of here I will send every Knight of Adreabeth after you to hunt you down and kill you!" yelled Adelaide. She was pulled roughly to her feet by her tied hands, and come face to face with the man. "Boys look at this, feisty one isn't she" the man said throwing Adelaide back to the ground. "Do you have the fang or not, you're wasting my time" the man spoke getting angry. "It's in my back pocket" spoke Edmund from next to Arthur. The man took the fang, and walked off stating "right were off then, goodbye".
"Now how are we going to get out?" Amelia spoke for the first time since they were taken. "William I have a dagger in my boot, can you see if you can get it" said Adelaide. Somehow William managed to get the dagger from Adelaide's boot and cut her free. He then cut every one free and the group made their way to the dungeons.
Once everyone was free from the dungeons, Adelaide turned to her mother and said "where's Bradley". " I don't know Addie but with what happened we might not find him". Adelaide knew what her mother meant, but did not want to believe it. She could not imagine life without him.
There were at least fifteen people dead, knights and towns people. As Adelaide and Arthur walked through the town, they heard a commotion to the left of them. As they turned, a large black and tan dog knocked Adelaide to the floor. Adelaide opened her eyes and looked up with happy tears in her eyes, it was Bradley.
