Calum's P.O.V.

I re-read my message before pressing send.

Me (10:16pm): I haven't seen you after lunch. I miss you.

No. Actually, I haven't been with her for more than an hour except for our classes together. And, most of the time, I'm being excused to attend football trainings both for the school competitions and the international games.

I just miss having her around. I'm surprised she haven't left me yet.

She, god, she deserves someone far better than I am. Someone who can be there for her.

After five minutes of waiting for her reply and receiving nothing, I sighed. Maybe she hates me. I don't know. I deserve it anyway.

I hopped off the car, carrying my ever heavy bag full of things I used to love...

Used to love...

Guessing that both my parent were probably sleeping, I decided not to knock and pulled out the spare key my mum gave me. But before I can even unlock the door, it flew open, revealing my mum.

"Hi, mum!" I said, as cheerful as I can.

She just looked at me with a stern look on her face.

"Can I come in?" I asked slowly, nodding at her.

She eyed me, moving aside. "I shouldn't be letting you in. You were out all day. A night would do you good outside."

"Mum, look," I started, looking back at her. "I'm sorry, okay. I had football trainings and I..."

I can't tell her. I'm not sure she'll let me go if I tell her about it.

"You what?" She asked, closing the door.

"I was out with my friends," I said. "We were..."

Maybe it's all or nothing. She'd find out eventually.

"We were practicing," I finally said. She just looked at me as if she's waiting for me to go on. I gulped. This doesn't look right. "We were offered to do a front act for One Direction. And it's really cool, mum. We're so excited about it. We're practicing for---"

"You're not going," she cut me off.

"What?" I almost snapped.

"Don't you dare raise your tone at me, Calum!" She huffed.

"But you don't understand, mum," I tried to argue. "I'm not even sure if I still want football. That's all I ever did. I'm having fun playing music with my friends!"

"You're playing piano ever since," she simply pointed out. "That's enough music for you. You're going to Brazil. No buts. You'll start packing your things tomorrow."

"But," I started, but decided not to. "What about my friends? They're counting on me."

"Tell them to get someone else," she said. "Don't make me ground you or you won't be able to see any of them. Even your girlfriend."

"Mum," I sighed, giving up. "Fine. Like my opinion matters."

"School. Piano. Football. That's what you should be doing," she reminded. "Now, go to your room!"

"That's where I was going anyway," I muttered, shaking my head in disbelief. I ran upstairs to my room, slamming the door shut and throwing my things at the corner.

I sat at the edge of the bed and pulled out my phone.

Maybe she's already sleeping, I thought. There's nothing I should worry about. She doesn't hate me, she understands me. Even Delilah knows that.

I scanned thru my contacts and pressed on the call button.

It rung twice until someone picked it up.

"Hello?" She said slowly. Then she giggled. "Guess who's missing me now."

I chuckled. "I do. Are you busy?"

"Not at the moment," she said. "We're just writing songs at the studio. What's up?"

"Nothing really," I lied. But the way I said it would have given her a hint.

"Come on, Calum," she cooed. "You can't lie to me. What's wrong?"

I sighed. "It's... I don't think I'm still in love as I was before with football."

"Of course, you're not!" She giggled. "You love me more!"

"Thanks for pointing that out, Mali," I chuckled. "But Michelle already took a big part of my heart. I'm marrying her in the future."

"I'm rooting for you," she giggled. "I rather have her as my sister, anyway. I never wanted a baby brother."

"You're stuck with me," I pointed out, laughing. "And I'm no baby."

"Whatever age, still my baby," she said. "So, what's the deal?"

"Music," I simple said. "And like I have a choice. Just had a fight with mum. Michelle's hurting, I know. And my friends are counting on me for this once in a lifetime opportunity we had. I just don't know what to do."

She didn't said anything. We were both silent for a moment. Until I heard her sighed over the phone.

"Follow your dreams, Calum," she said. "Follow your heart."

"What does that even mean?" I asked. It was simple, but my mind's clouded with so much thoughts that nothing make sense at the moment.

She chuckled. "You'll figure it out. But I'm here when you think all else fail, okay? I got your back."

"Thanks, Mali," I said. "I guess I'll go now. Thank you again."

"Anytime. For you," she said. "Bye."

"Bye."

A/N: Was sick for days and had a writer's block. But, taadaa! Mali's gotta be the best sister awardee!

Also, there's a hidden foreshadow to book 5. Any guesses?

Okay, I'll go now.

Might do double update though. :-)
