Nighttime fell upon the small town of Jericho, the streets quiet and the lights brightly lit. The town was asleep in their beds, not daring to step foot out during the darkness. The house that burned down at the edge of town was blocked off to trespassers for safety risks.
Matthew and Eve appeared at the house, standing right in front of its burned features. Matthew sighed as he began to walk forward. Eve stood back some, she was still barefooted with a white dress on.
"It should be here." He stated as he begin to dig through the rubble.
"Your body?" Eve asked
"Yes, I just have to find the opening to the basement." He stated. "I am sure the basement remained intact except maybe some slight water damage."
Eve nodded and began to help Matthew search through the rubble for a opening to the basement. It took two hours before they finally stumbled upon it. They threw all the rubble off and entered the basement, it was slightly damaged but still there.
"How are you going to find your body in here?" Eve asked. "Would it not be in the wall or under the floor. It would be to big to hide anywhere in this tiny space."
"That is because my body is not in formed anymore." He stated as he pointed at a gold and red vase with a top on it. "My body was destroyed, but my ashes remain. I can reunite with my ashes with my soul and my body will form."
"How?" She asked.
"By a very ancient ritual made by demons who were tossed out of Heaven." He explained. "I say a few words in Latin, my soul comes out of this body and forms with my ashes, thus
reviving my old body."
Eve nodded, watching as Matthew walked over to the vase and grabbed it. However, she did not feel right about him, like she knew him as an evil creature who use to be good. The way his eyes hungered for destruction and darkness truly overwhelmed her, reminding her of her oldest son who left after killing his own brother. Her oldest son use to be a good man, but something entered his mind and told him to kill his younger brother. However, she had knew better. Sibling rivalry began with her children and ended up killing one of them.
Now she sees Matthew as the same evil who is out to destroy somebody who really wants nothing to do with them or did anything wrong to him, however he said he would help her destroy the descendants of her older son so that way this sin of her son would no longer be a curse upon the world.
"We should leave now." Matthew stated. "We have to get somewhere really safe and perform my ritual to form my body back together."
He began to walk up the stairs, Eve following slowly behind him. They retrieved what Matthew was looking for, now it was time to destroy Canaan and his family.
The darkness has only just began..
