*Marshall's POV*

I threw my chair at the door in anger and let out a scream of frustration. Nothing had worked. No spells, no force, no threats, not even begging. I was going to stay there until I conformed to Mom's wishes, and that was never going to happen.

The door swung open, and she stepped in. "Marshall Lee Abadeer, as you are so fond of reminding me, you are an adult. I will not accept tantrums."
"Let me leave!" I snarled.
Mom crossed her arms. "If you had a brother or sister, I'd be happy to let you continue on your merry way. But you are sadly my only hope. I never should have let you go up to the surface, clearly you were raised entirely wrong without my guidance. I am quite sorry about that."

I replied... less than politely.
Mom wasn't pleased. "Marshall Lee, really. Why must you behave this way? Must I wash your mouth out with soap?"
"I'd like to see you try!" I snapped.

She raised an eyebrow. "Yes, I bet everyone in a fifty-mile radius would also be amused watching you try to gnaw on a cake of soap believing it to be my actual hand. Now, are you willing to behave? You'll soon get privileges back."
"Privileges like going to see Fionna?"
"Oh, no. No no no. You see, I paid a visit to your little friend."

My eyes widened, and I lunged for her. She sidestepped me gracefully, and I groaned before whipping around to face her. "What did you do to Fionna?! If you hurt her--"
"I simply told her she'd never see you again. Calm yourself down, Marshall. You're not a child."
"Calm down?! You tried to take away the love of my life!"
"Stop being so melodramatic." Honoria rolled her eyes.
