Shit I'm going to be late!

Great just great isn't it, I'm going to be late for my first day of school. It's not like I'm not use to being late but seriously it's my last year and the least I can do is not be late like every other year.

Laptop check.

Books  check.

Pens check.

Lunch check.

Hair check.

Face che-.... Eh it'll do.

When I finish getting ready I bolt to the other side if the hall way and swing my brother's door open.

"Get up!" I yell as I swing the closed door right open and look around the room to only find he's bed neatly made and room perfectly tidy.

"Son of a- "I slam the door close and run to my other brother's room but there's no site of him either.

I'm going to kill  Aaron when I see him.

As I run down stairs through the kitchen I grab a bar and shove it into my bag then head outside.

Since my stupid twin brother and younger brother have taken the car to school and I'm already half an hour late so there won't be any busses, so I have to walk. Well... more like run. I sprint down the drive way with my shoes in my hands. Fortunately, school isn't that far from my house it's only a fifteen-minute walk so I should get there in ten minutes if I run.

When I arrive at school it's 9:45 and half way through the first period already. i breath a little knowing that I could have been later.

Those after school runs seem to already be paying off.

I reach the school's front office and knock on the square window. I tap my foot against the floor waiting impatiently for the lady to come and slide open the window so I can get a late pass and head straight for my class.

"Miss Darrio, nice of you to show up on the first day of school... late" the lady named Libby say to me as she slides the small window open.

"I know; I know I'm sorry it won't happen again I promise" I apologise and she writes me a late pass.

"Good. Now get to class" she laughs ripping off the small rectangular piece of paper and I turn to leave.

"Thank you Liddy" I shout over my shoulder.

Libby has always been a nice lady it's nice and refreshing to because all the teaches here are pretty strict.

As I speed walk down the hallway to my English class I manage to get one shoe on, don't ask me how, all I know is that I looked like an idiot hopping and balancing on one leg. Let's just say, yoga has never been my thing.

Before I go to my first class I search for my locker which doesn't take very long for me to fine and shove my bag in then collect my books for classes two and three.

With the late pass hanging out of my mouth I arrive at A7 and open the door. As I lean against the door frame concentrating on putting my other shoe on and balancing my books in my arms a voice echoes through the room.

"Skylar! What do you have to say for yourself" I snap my head up to look at Mrs Bloom's blazing eyes staring at me. Putting my foot down and composing my poster, I say.

"Sorry Mrs Bloom my fish drowned this morning" I make up a lame excuses to try get myself out of trouble but still earn a few snorts from some students, and some just look at me annoyed for interrupting their 'precious' class time.
