BLAZE (Oh Hold)

CHAPTER THREE

"Ari Hale"

I freeze as I realise that wasn't the voice of my best friend.

"You either just had a major ball drop or that was not you" I say and we both turn around; our eyes go wide at the boy we were just talking about standing behind us with his books being carried in one arm towering over us.

"Hi" Aisha says, well I sit there awkwardly.

"Hey"

He's voice is so deep.

"I'm Aisha" she introduces herself.

"I know, your Zayden's girl right" he says more of a statement then a question.

"Right" she smiles at him.

"Hi I'm-"I start to say

"Skylar"

"How  did-" I begin to say

"I know because Brooks told me"

"Oh Okay"

The end of school bell rings and all the students stand up and head for the door including Ari.

"That was so weird" Aisha says as she hugs her books to her chest.

"I know" I say confused as we walk out the door.

"Anyway, I'll see you tomorrow and I want your answer tomorrow as well" she points her finger at me as she walks backwards in the opposite direction as me. I just roll me eyes, turn around and make my way to my locker.

"I'm home!" I yell as I walk through the front door,dropping my bag on the ground.

"Hey Sky, dads still at work" Aaron says from the lounge as he clicks through different channels.

"Okay, where's Danny?" I ask as I take of my shoes.

"In his bedroom I think" I nod my head and start making my way up the stairs to go see him.

"Oh and don't think I forgot about what happened this morning, I will get you back" I stop and look over my shoulder and Aaron laughs.

*knock knock*

That was stupid why did you knock Skylar?

Standing in front of my brother's bedroom I push open the door and sneak my head in and look around the room. My eyes land on my brother as he lays in his bed sleeping peacefully, I push the door open a little more and step inside walking over to him and pull the blanket over him.

"Sleep well Danny" I lightly kiss him on the head and walk back out closing the door and head down stairs into the kitchen.

"What are you cooking?" Aaron walks into the kitchen and pulls out a chair and sits at the bench.

"Pasta" I sing as I put on the sauce .

"Yum, Dad should be home soon so hurry up" he rushes me.

"If you don't shut up I won't give you anything" I stir the spaghetti.

"No please I'm sorry I want some" he falls onto the bench over exaggerating.

"Fine only if you make yourself useful and set the table" I lean my back on the kitchen sink

"Sure thing sis" he gets up and walks around the bench to get all the necessary things you need to set the table with.

"Thank you" I laugh

*Click*

"I'm home!"

"Shhh!" I stick my head out at dad putting a finger to my lips hushing him and he covers his mouth and ducks his head in.

"Danny fell asleep"

"Oh sorry, how did he go today?" he asks as he tip toes over.

"I'm not sure I never got a chance to ask"

"Okay. What smells good" Dad kisses me forehead and I smile.

"Sky made pasta" Aaron finally joins in after setting the table.

"Yes I love your pasta, actually I love all your cooking its way better than your mothers use to be" as soon as the words slip from dads mouth the room falls into silence. It's still touchy subject to talk about ever since she walked out on him when I was 14 for a younger guy, she hasn't contacted any of us since, not even Danny to see how he's been going. My face turns into a deep frown.

"I'm sorry kids"

"It's okay dad" Aaron says softly with a reassuring smile.

Aaron's always been the peace maker of the family, always trying to lighten the mood and comfort people when their sad and always, I mean always, calm no matter what the situation, but me, I've always been the trouble maker and a hothead every now and then, well... All time, I'm like a ticking time bomb waiting for someone to come along and set me off, sometimes I question how Aaron and I ended up as twins because we are the complete opposite, but I know I could never live with out him he's like another piece of me, like the fire that needs air to continue burning. And for Danny, let's just say he's, special.

"Sky? You okay?" Dad ask concerned draping an arm over me and giving me a warm side hug.

"Yep fine" I manage to say through my itching anger.

"Dinners ready" I turn around after finishing serving the plats and moving away from my father forcing a smile.

"Is Danny coming down?" Aaron ask as we all take a seat at the table, dad sitting at the head of the table and Aaron and I on each side of him.

"No just let him sleep, it would have been a long day for him today" Dad says.

"Okay well then dig in" Aaron claps his hands together and we all start eating.

Nothing like good food to calm your frustration.

"how was the first day?" Dad ask taking a sip of his water.

"Good. Actually I made it to the school's football team today"

"Well done son" dad claps his back.

"What about you Sky? Didn't get into any trouble" he asks and I look up at Aaron and see him trying to hold in a laugh.

"Nope the day ran smoothly" I lean over the table and suck up some spaghetti.

"Good girl?" he looks between Aaron and I suspiciously. I look at Aaron and give him a glare that tells him to 'shut your mouth or your dead'

"Anyway" Aaron averts the conversation "how was work?"

"It was okay I guess, I won another case"

"What!" Aaron and I say at the same. "Dad how can you say that like it's no big deal" I say.

"This calls for a celebration" Aaron says

"I'll getting the snacks!" I stand up

"I'll pick the movie!" Aaron gets up as well and walks to the lounge.

We do this every time dad wins a case; eat unhealthy food and watch movies most of the night, it's kind of our thing. He works as a lawyer and a damn good one might I say.

"Hang on we haven't finished dinner yet!" Dad says

Neither Aaron or I answer.

"Who's taking the table off and washing the dishes" dad asks complaining knowing that its going to be him

Aaron and I stop and look at each other.

"You" We both say at the same time reading each others minds then resume back to what we where doing.

"Okay the movies all set, I'm going to wake up Danny" Aaron runs up the stairs taking two at a time.
