CHAPTER SIXTEEN

"So you, mean to tell me, I'm an elemental?"

...

I burst into laughter. I mean as if you wouldn't.

"You....got to be... kidding... right" I say in between my laughter but there is no trace of a smile on Ari's face.

"Skylar, why would I joke about something like that"

I stop laughing and wipe away the tears that were forming in my eyes from laughing so much.

"Well I'm finding it hard to believe something so.. so, childish"

"If you don't believe me I can show you" he grabs a water bottle.

I raise my eyebrow at him "go for it"

I watch him as he gets up from the bed and places the plastic water bottle on the desk, he unscrews the lid and puts it next to the bottle than sits down.

I role my eyes at how dramatic he makes everything.

As he sits there staring at the water I sigh. "Wow, so impressive" I sarcastically say.

But all I get from him is a small side smirk and the next thing I know the water from inside the water bottle slowly rises out of the bottle creating a swirl in the air.

I'm shocked

"I had to break it to you but... I told you so" he looks at me, but I can't take my eyes off the water.

It slowly makes its way in my direction and circles around me, I steadily raise my hand to touch it but it moves quickly back to Ari.

It was like the water was almost.. scared of me.

I continue to watch as the water gently changes shape in the air, and before I know it, it's slowly sneaks back into the bottle were it came from like nothing even happened.

I was dumbfounded, all I did was sit there staring at the water bottle with my mouth slightly ajar.

"Ahem" Ari clears his throat. I slowly move my eyes to him.

...

"WHAT THE F-" I start yelling but before I can finish Ari had jumped on me clamping his hand over my mouth.

"Don't freak out!" He whisper yells. I stare at him with my eyes wide.

"If Jacob finds out I told you we're both dead" he slowly removes his hand.

"What the fuck!" I whisper. "How the hell am I like you? How did you do that? Wait if can do that what can I to? Oh my god! Can you brother do that as well?" I start shootings unanswered question at him.

"Woah, if you slow down I'll answer all your questions."

"Can... I, do that to?" I ask a little bit shaken.

"No, your not a water element, if you were the water would have stayed near you but it didn't"

"Okay, so what can I do?"

"I'm not sure that's what Jacob and I are trying to figure out"

"Is Jacob one as well?"

"Yes but he is fire"

"What about Remi?"

"Remi's earth, that's why she's so good with animals"

"Oh my god, oh my god I'm freaking out. Holy shit, holy shit" I start to panic

"Sky calm down, this isn't a bad thing" he touches me shoulder.

"How is this not a bad thing! I didn't even know I could do this... wait, if I'm one does that mean?.." I drift off

"Yes, your brothers and father are as well"

"Do they know about this?" I look at him.

"I'm guessing you father does, but I'm not shore about Aaron or Daniel."

I need to let this sink in, but I need space.

"I, I got to go" I get up off his bed grab my stuff and shove it in my bag.

"Skylar, wait!" He yells but I've already ran out of his room.

....

He can't be for real right? It's probably just some stupid prank he's trying to pull.

I slam the door behind me as I walk inside my house.

"Whoa, slow down Sky, I don't think I'm going to be able to afford another front door." My father chuckles referring to the last incident that happened a few years back.

"Hey are you alright sweetheart?" He questions me while I'm standing still in the middle of the hallway.

...

"Sky?"

Should I question him on it? But, what if it was just a prank.

"Skylar?"

But what if it's not? I need answers!

"Hey skylar snap out of it" dad snaps his fingers in front of my face.

"Oh.. um... sorry, I was just... thinking of something I'm fine" I try my hardest to smile at him.

"Are you sure your alright?"

"Uh yeah no I'm good" I walk past him without another word.

"Okay well, dinner will be ready in 20"

"Yep" I climb the stairs and walk into my room.

Okay Sky. Breath after dinner you'll confront you father about what you just found out.
