BLAZE (Oh Hold)

CHAPTER TWELVE

"Oh hi... Uh sorry I, um, put Remi down she's sleeping and it looks like you have everything under control here, so I guess I'll go home... Bye" I scramble back to my feet then turn on my heel and exit the house.

"Skylar!" I hear Ari call from behind me.

"What's up" I continue to walk

"let me take you home"

"No its fine" I look at him and see that he's face has already begun to heal and half of the bruises are gone.

"You don't have a car and I can't exactly let you walk home at this time of night" I stop.

"I'll just call my brother then" I pull out my phone only to find it dead.

"Shit" I mumble. "Yeah that would be great thanks"

"Get in" we both get into the car.

...

"I see your face is already starting to heal" he looks at me and I glance to my side.

"Oh yeah, the bruises weren't too bad anyway" I look at him fully and raise my brow.

"Are you kidding me! It looked like a heard of elephants stomped all over your face" he chuckles.

...

"How much did you hear" he suddenly asks breaking the silence.

"I don't know what you're talking about" I fiddle with my ear phones.

"I know you wear listening"

"Was not." I snap in a childish manner. He doesn't say anything but I see a hint of a smile. "Sorry"

...

"Those guys they said something about..." I stop as I try to remember the exact words "...that you and your family shouldn't have come back and that they tried to warn you about what the... Fyfe's? I think they were called? and what they would do if they found out you came back"

"Oh" was all he said as we pulled into my drive way, he mumbles something else but I didn't understand.

"What?" I question

"Nothing"

"Oh. Okay" I pause for a little "and your brother said- "

"look Sky, its late" he turns to face me "get some sleep and don't worry about what happened tonight"

I didn't know if I should have kept pestering on about what he's brother was saying, but I didn't. I slipped out of the car and said a small goodbye to him and within a seconds him and he's car were out of sight. I instantly regrated my decision.

I should have asked why he's brother was talking about me and what he meant when he said I was like them.

"Why are you so late" dad stands in the middle of the kitchen with he's arms folded.

"Sorry I got lost" I walk to the stairs

"Who bought you home?"

"I was close to a friend's house and just walk there"

"Why didn't you just call me or your brother"

"Phone died" I lied smoothly.

"Your mother called" I stop as I reach the top of the stairs.

"What did she want?"

"I don't know; I didn't answer but she said she wanted to talk to you"

"Then why didn't she just call me" I continue walking to my room "not that I would've answered anyway" I mumble.

"Skylar. Your going to have  to talk to her sooner or later" he follows me to my room.

"Why should I she doesn't deserve to see any of us, let alone talk to us" he stands at the door

"Just remember she is your mother and you wouldn't be here if it weren't for her"

I didn't answer.

"Just call her back and see what she wants"

"Why should I!" I throw my phone on the desk "She was the one that left us. Why is it that you always stick up for her when she just threw us to the side like we meant nothing?" he drops his head and sighs "Dad, seriously, wake up. She doesn't love us anymore and I don't want to waste my time on someone that clearly doesn't care"

"I'm sorry Sky" he walks over to me and embraces me in a warm hug and my body relaxes.

"Don't worry about it... but do me a favour" I hug him back.

"What?" he pulls away and looks at me.

"Block her"

"...Okay" he hugs me again.
