"Don't let it happen again Skylar, it's your last year."
Here I am sitting in the all too familiar principles office. Many memories in this room mostly bad ones though.
"I know sir it won't happen again" I promise.
"Good because I really don't want to have to suspend you" he leans back in his chair
"Yep" I sit there unfazed
"Okay you can go now"
"Thank you" I say as I stand up and grab my bag from the floor swinging it over my shoulders. As I walk up to my locker I see someone I know too well leaning against it.
"shit" I whisper "Okay Aaron here me out first" I say putting my hands up to stop him from jumping to conclusions, he hears me and pushes himself off my locker and faces me "she started it-"
He puts a hand up to stop me and I stop talking and wait for him to say something but he just shakes his hand in the air and breaks out into a smile.
"High five!" I look at him confused "Don't leave me hanging Sky" I slowly lift my hand and smack it against his. He moves from my locker and I take a step towards it and open it.
"I heard the whole thing she deserved it" he leans on the locker next to me.
Wait he heard? How?
"What do you mean you heard, you weren't there" I state
"Um yes I was" he says coolly but I notice the panic the rushes through his eyes "Anyway I got to get to class see you at home" he says and turns around quickly walking down the hall way.
How is that possible he couldn't have heard?
Dropping the thought, I close my locker and make my way to my final class. Math.

"Skylar! I need you to stack the dog food on the shelves now please" My boss pops his head from around the corner and my friend Joey gives me a sympathetic look, I just shrug my shoulders.
"Okay"
After school I caught the bus to work, the local pet stock, as much as I love working here it is hard, lifting up massive bags of dog food, cleaning out the rabbit cages and the worst, cleaning the fish and turtle tanks, that shit sucks. The smell that comes out of those pumps is disgusting.
"Ugh" I let out a grunt as I push the trolley full of dog food bags to through the aisles.
Finally arrive at the right shelf I stop and I start to get to work. Holding in my breath I pick up the first heavy bag and drop it down then move onto the next, and then the next, and the next. I stop to take a short break and whip the sweat forming on my forehead away.
"Excuse me" I stop mid-way from picking up another bag when I hear a small shy voice. I turn my body to see a little blond haired girl standing behind me. I kneel down levelling with her and I look into her gorgeous green eyes.
She going to be a stunner when she's older but she reminds me of someone.
"What can I for you sweetie?" I ask
"I want to buy a bunny" she looks down shyly and fiddles with her fingers.
"I can show you where they are if you like but who did you come here with" I stop and look around and she lifts her head up and look around to find no one with her.
"My brother, I don't know where he went" she scratches her Rosie coloured cheeks
"Okay well how about we look for him and then I will show you were the rabbits are, yeah?" I stand up and she smiles.
"Okay" she says happily "He won't be hard to miss he has a big head" she giggles and I smile at her. As we turn the corner I collided with a hard chest and fall to the ground.
"Shit!" I say at the same time as the person I just walked into.
Ouch.
"Ari! Say sorry!" the little girl yells and points to me.
Ari? I look up and see the very familiar boy standing over me
"Shit sorry." he extends a hand to help me up and I take it.
"That's okay"
"Remi. Don't you ever run off on me like that again" he squats in front of the little girl hugging her
"Get off me Ari I don't want your cooties" she pushes him away and he stands up
"I'm your brother you can't get cooties from me, you can only from other boys" He warns her and I chuckle at his protectiveness.
"Oh okay then. This girl is going to help us get a bunny" she looks up at me.
"Really" he looks at me.
"Yeah!" the girl says and they both stare at me "Follow me then" I turn around and start walking.
---
"I want the black one please" The little girl Remi says to me pointing to the black rabbit.
"Sure" I pick up the small black rabbit and hand it to her "Be gentile with him, rabbits can be very shy and scared animals"
"Okay" she whispers as she holds the rabbit close in her tiny arms
"Thank you" Ari says to me
"That's fine, it's my job. You're going to need this for it to drink and this for it to eat" I hand the right supplies to him.
"Right" he takes them
"So Remi is it?" I ask
"yep"
"Have you got a name for him yet"
"Hm..." she thinks "I think I'm going to call him... Toby!"
"Really out of all the names" Ari sighs
"Yeah what's wrong with Toby?" she frowns innocently at him.
"Nothing" he mumbles "Lets pay for Toby then"
--
"Okay so all up that's $160" I say standing behind the cash register "How long has she wanted one for" I ask him as he hands me money.
"Ages, Jacob said not to get one until we move" I look up at him and find him looking at Remi who's sitting on the chair near the door.
"Jacob?"
"My older brother" he looks at me.
Where are his parents?
"Dead" he says out of know where.
"What?"
"My parents died and my bother looks after me and my siblings" he looks back at his sister and I see a flash of hurt run through his eyes. I decide to drop the topic.
"How many of you are there?" I pry
"Five" he states.
An awkward silence falls.
"She looks like you" I say breaking the ice.
"Yeah a lot of people say that, but she has Jacobs eyes" he smiles at her then looks to me "Well I better go" he says after a few moments of silence.
"Bye have a nice rest of the day" I say back and he walks off "Bye Remi"
"Bye!" she slowly gets off the chair and waves, and I watch them both walk out the automatic doors.
....
"What a hunk" I turn around "Who was that?" Joey asks and I fold my arms
"Just a guy I go to school with" I role my eyes
"You're a lucky bitch!" he stomps his foot and I laugh.
"Anyway I need to finish my job" I say as I remember the job I had to do
"Don't worry I did it for you"
"Oh my God thank you" I sigh in relief
