BLAZE (Oh Hold)

CHAPTER FOUR

Ari's POV

I honestly thought moving to a new school would suck a lot, you know the whole idea of meeting new people, making new friends; but surprisingly it's not as bad as I thought, seeming that my cousin Brooks is the 'popular' boy in school and everyone 'knows' him or 'knows' of him, his words not mine. He told me who the cool people are, who the weirdos are, who the nerds are and who the normal people are. No one really court my attention today not that I was planning to make many friends this year since it's my last, and I don't want to get myself court up in any shit like last time.

Today was the second day of school and I was roaming the hall ways looking for my class with my bag slung over my right shoulder, the halls were dead not a single student lingering around, apart from the ones that probably made up an excuse, saying they needed to go toilet or they needed to pick up a printing from the library just to get out of class. Trust me I would know because I've used some of those excuses before.

As I passed a few students some smiled at me and said a small hello walking slowly just to waste time and I returned the kind gesture but others didn't even spare me a glace and walked straight past me minding there own business, not that I really cared. I didn't bother stopping any of them and ask for help, I guess I didn't feel like talking to people today.

But that's when I heard a girls voice say violently.

"Don't you dare touch me or him"

I stoped in my tracks wondering if I heard right.

I turned a corner and saw a boy back up against the wall and two boy's standing in front of him I couldn't see who the girl was because one of them was blocking my way, and I also noticed papers scattered all around them.

"Aw why baby we're just having some fun" one of the guys goes to reach for her but the boy that was being backed up shoved him away from her and yelled something that sounded really stupid.

"Woah. Boys got some fight in him huh" both the bully's laugh and one of them gets right in the kids face with a little bit of annoyance.

I stood the contemplating whether or not I should help the two.

I can't afford getting myself court up in these things again. I need - no - I have to stay away from trouble and these two boys have trouble written all over them.

"I told you not to go near him Stacy" the girl says pushing the bulky away and steps in between them. That's when I got the clear view of who she was.

Skylar?

She clenches her fists tightly in anger and the lights flicker at the same time. I tilt my head up.

That's weird.

"What makes you think I would listen to you" he shoves her out the way. I take a little step forward.

No stay out of it Ari.

"Don't fucking touch me!" she finally cracks then throws a punch right at his jaw and the lights flick once again, but this time staying off for a few seconds before turning back on.

He takes a few steps back making space between them and his face full of shock, but he covers it with annoyance and anger. He clearly didn't see that coming.

"You stupid bitch!" he grabs her by the neck and shoves her against the wall. Before I even can comprehend what I'm doing I run to them and yanked the guy's tee-shirt hard pulling him off her and smashing him against the locker next to us creating a dint in it and he cry's in pain.

"Didn't your mother ever teach you how to treat girls" I throw him to the ground with quite a bit of force.

"Now both of you get the fuck out of my face before I do something worse than just throw you!" I yell at both of them with my blood boiling with anger and Stacy looks up at me shocked but also scared. The other boy was already sprinting half way down the hall before I yelled again.

"Go!" I shout and he gets up slipping over some pieces of paper on the ground and runs in the same direction as the other boy.

"You guys okay" I turn around to a fuming Skylar and a wide-eyed boy.

The boy looks at her face before slowly taking her hand in his, she takes a few deep breaths to calm down "We're fine thanks" she manages to say though her clenched teeth and both her and the boy drop to the ground to collect the papers as do I.

"Thanks" Skylar mutters.

I look up at her with a small smile and the boy shoves her nodding in my direction.

"Danny says thank you as well" he then shoves her again she roles her eyes and looks at him.

"I'm not saying that" but he just nods and points to me. She lets out a frustrated sigh.

"And he says that was pretty cool what you just did" I look at the boys smiling face in confusion.

Skylar covers her mouth. "He's deaf" she answers my unsaid question. Danny punches her arm and she lets out a small 'ouch'

"Oh" I mutter

"As you just witnessed, his stay hasn't been good because of it" she says still covering her mouth he punches her again.

I tap him on the shoulder and he looks at me.

"Who calls their son Stacy anyway" I tell him and he show a small smile.

"his names Ryland, people call him Stacy because it's his last name" she explains.

"Oh right. Nice punch by the way" I compliment her.

"You saw that?"

"Yep." I say popping the 'p' and we both let out a small laugh.

After finishing collecting all the paper, I go to get my bag that I dropped before.

"If that ever happens again just let me know and I'll sort it out" I say to the boy

No. You really shouldn't. My conscience adds but I ignore it.

He does this thing with his hand, I look at him confused.

"It's sign language. But he says he will" Skylar tells me 

"You know sign language?" I ask

"Yeah, I kinda had to learn it" she looks at Danny with a smile.

"Well thanks again" She says after a short pause.

"No worries" I start to walk away.

"Wait what class are you in?" she stops me and I pull my timetable out of my pocket and look at it.

"M3" I say turning back around to face them again.

"You do realise you going in the opposite direction of it" she puts a hand on her hip. I look back down at my timetable and cock my head "Don't worry I'll come with you, I'm in that class as well. First I need to drop Danny off at his class" she tells me and Danny signs something to her.

"Yes I do need to" she flicks his nose "Let's go or where going to get roasted even more" she starts to walk off with Danny and I tag along.

After safely dropping off Danny to his class Skylar and I finally arrive at our class.

"Were have you too been" Mr Lonsdale asks as he readjusts his glasses

"Ohhhhhh" the boy's in the class say at the same time thinking the inappropriate thoughts that boys do and the whole class laughs, Skylar shoots them all a glare.

"Okay that's enough" the teacher holds up his hand to stop them and they do "You two go take a seat please" 

"Yes sir" Skylar says and walks to the seat next to her friend and I take the only seat left, in the back corner.
