I'm not much of a one for hair and make-up and clothes and all that stuff, to be totally upfront with you. So if I tell you that I'd spent almost an hour getting ready for my tutorial with Professor Kathleen East, then you may begin to suspect that my interest was not purely educational.
At any rate, I was happy with the look of my black mini skirt. I actually got it for 3 pounds at the Oxfam shop, but don't tell anyone! My white blouse and black heels were a little more expensive, and I'm using make-up I borrowed from Tracy Evans, nominally a history student at St Bertha's but basically an immaculately-put-together party girl from Peterborough who spends more time in her bathroom and various friends' bedrooms than she does in the university library.
I wrapped my thick fair hair into a quick ponytail. Et Voila! Ready for the world!
