Kellin POV

"How long has it been?" Vic asked me quietly as we sat in the lunch room at school, his eyes darting around to make sure no one heard us.

"Three weeks, it’s all out of your system. How do you feel?" I questioned, grabbing his hand and holding it under the table. He turned to smile at me, squeezing my hand gently.

"I feel a lot better. I’m not that paranoid anymore. I mean, I am kind of, but I’ve learned how to control it. And I still have a small….craving for it, but I can handle it. As long as you’re by my side, of course," he smiled. I nodded, a huge, happy smile on my face.

"Of course I’ll be here," I said softly. “I love you."

"I love you too, Kellin," he whispered as he leaned in and kissed my cheek. I felt my cheeks heat up and thought that I was blushing. My thoughts were confirmed when Vic chuckled slightly at me.

"Well would you look at that, the fag has decided to come back to school," Josh, a huge football star at school, sneered as he stood in front of our table.

"Yeah, I did. And?" Vic said harshly, glaring him down. Josh smirked.

"And he thinks he’s all tough. Or maybe he’s just trying to look tough in front of his boyfriend so he can get laid tonight," he said, earning a couple laughs from his buddy.

"Do you want to fight? I’ll fight you, you ignorant little prick," Vic snapped. I felt fear flash through my body and I squeezed his hand hard to keep him calm.

"And he wants to fight me, would you look at that?" Josh laughed. “Sure, let’s go outside, faggot."

"Don’t wanna fight in here? What, are you too scared to get your ass beat by a fag in front of everyone?" Vic taunted, standing up and facing him. Vic was really short, the top of his head reaching the general area of where Josh’s eyes were.

I knew Vic was stronger than he looked. But was he stronger than Josh?

"Vic, please don’t," I pleaded, standing up behind him and grabbing his hands. “Please don’t fight him. You’re gonna get hurt."

"Even his little fag boyfriend doesn’t believe in him!" one of Josh’s friends laughed, and I could tell that the comment hurt Vic in two ways. One: at the thought of me not believing in him and two: I got called a fag.

It didn’t help that it was in the same sentence, either.

"Of course I believe in him!" I blurted out quickly. “But I know you won’t fight fairly. You’ll have all your idiot friends help you gang him!"

"Idiots?’ the one that made the comment about me asked in disbelief. “Yo, Josh, maybe he should be the one we hurt."

Vic immediately stepped in front of me while I stayed close behind him. “You better not touch him," he said in a quiet, deadly voice. “I will hunt you down and hurt you if you do."

Seriously, where were the teachers?

"I bet you would," Josh sneered, getting in Vic’s face. Vic tensed up, his hands that were in mine now in fists. “Tyler, get the other one."

My eyes widened as the biggest guy in the group-not counting Josh-stepped forward and grinned evilly at me. I clung to Vic tightly, scared out of my mind.

This was all too familiar to me.

The guy grabbed me by my arms and yanked me away, while I shouted in protest. He held my hands behind my back and the one I called an idiot stepped forward and punched me in the stomach. I doubled over, the breath knocked out of me.

"You want to see you’re little faggot boyfriend get the shit beat out of him?" Tyler said in my ear.

"No, don’t hurt him!" I yelled, shaking my head as he shoved me to the ground.

I saw Josh throw a punch at Vic, hitting him in the chest. Even though I knew it must have knocked the air out of him, Vic started swinging. And I mean hard. He got Josh in the face several times and knocked him out cold, causing the rest of them start to go at him.

"Boys, stop!" a teacher yelled, running into the lunchroom with a few more teachers behind him.

It took two P.E. teachers to pull Vic off of Tyler, and a couple to hold back the one I called an idiot-his name was Aaron, I learned.

"What’s going on here? Vic Fuentes, you’re expelled!" the principal barked.

"What? I didn’t even do anything!" Vic shouted. I climbed to my feet and ran over to him, wrapping my arms around his waist from behind and burying my face in his back. He relaxed a little, placing his hands on mine, but was still angry.

"Didn’t do anything? We have to call an ambulance for Tyler and Josh!" Mr. Hernandez yelled.

"I didn’t start it!" Vic screamed. “They did! I swear, I didn’t start it!"

"He didn’t start it, Mr. Hernandez," I defended my boyfriend. “Josh did."

"Well Aaron here tells me that Vic did."

"What?" Vic roared. “You’re going to believe him over me? Since when has he been known to tell the truth?!"

"Mr. Hernandez, Aaron’s lying," a loud voice said. We all turned and looked at the kid who said it. It was Matty, a kid from my math class. “Josh started calling Vic and Kellin names, and Vic defended them. But then Josh and Aaron started throwing punches. They threw the first punch, sir. Vic was fighting back."

"Is this true?" the principal asked, staring at Aaron. Aaron immediately protested.

"No! He started hitting first! Expel him! And Kellin!"

"Well, Kellin was on the floor when the principal got here," another kid, Alex pointed out.

"Yeah! Alex and I saw the whole thing! It was Josh and Aaron!" Jack, Alex’s boyfriend, shouted a few tables down.

"It was Josh and Aaron!" Austin and his boyfriend Alan shouted together. “Don’t expel Vic! Expel those three!"

"You’re not expelled, Vic," the principal said, and I sighed in relief. “But I’m sending you home for the rest of the day. Have your parents call me so we can talk about this."

"Yes sir," Vic said quietly. “Thank you."

Vic turned around in my arms, leaning against me. I hugged him tightly, glad he wasn’t in that ambulance with Tyler and Josh.

But damn, was it hot when he fought them.

"Mate, are you alright?" Oli, a kid from our Chemistry class asked Vic. “You took quite a beating."

"I’m fine, thanks," Vic mumbled, standing up straight. He looked at all of the kids who stood up for us and smiled, bloody nose and slight black eye and all.

"Thank you for standing up with me. I would’ve got expelled if he had believed that little shit instead of me and Kellin."

"It was the right thing to do," Matty said simply. “Now you better get home and tell your parents."

Vic nodded, shaking his hand before turning to me and taking my hand, walking out without another word.
