"Sara! Why the hell would you ever think of even trying to kill yourself!?"
Sara was awakened by the "motherly" scream that was shrieked by Madam Thompson. Ugh, Sara has had enough of it today. Her sudden suicide attempt was all over the internet, and so was Miranda's Death. Dang, Sara wanted to be Miranda so badly. She wanted to leave the prison that everyone else called "life" and how it was a "joy" to have.
Sara regained her consciousness, "I don't even see what the big deal is. I'm not your daughter."
"Yes, but you're the closest I've ever had," Madam started tearing up, "And i don't want to lose you."
"Well then, get married and have a child, but you're not in charge of me anymore!" She burst out in rage.
Madam Thompson just stared at her, and for what seemed like a long time, was just silence.
"I love you and all, but I'm not your daughter. I'm not yours. I'm not anybody's."
"Yes you are!" Madam Thompson stopped her on her way of walking out the door for school.
"Go get a husband, and make a baby! Make a perfect baby, with no diseases, or depression!" She yelled and ran out to her bicycle, and sure enough, Madam Thompson was watching the whole thing.
When Sara reached the school, she ran inside, because she saw Rodney and Steve, Rodney leaned up against the wall, and Steve with an arm against the wall, staring at eachother, obviously the suicide attempt brought them closer. But of course, they saw her. Crap!
She put on her hoodie, and carefully made her way through the crowd, but of course Rodney had to follow! Ugh, they wouldn't leave her alone after the bridge incident, which Sara still wanted, but was held on Suicide Watch currently.
"Sara, don't act like you don't see us."
Sara turned around, and was face to face with Rodney.
"Sara, Steve and I were assigned to you, make sure you don't get out of school for any reasons." He emphasized reasons, because of course, he was talking about Sara killing herself.
"Rod, I don't see what's the matter, I'm completely fine." Sara argued
"No you're obviously not. Nobody is going to trust you on your own until you get better." Steve retorted without hesitation.
Rodney slipped Sara a card, and Sara walked away.
Walking through the halls, Sara made time to read the card.
Dr. Addriane Barber - School Counselor - Room 344 - Sessions Available from 11:30- 2:45
She walked past the rooms, counting in her head: 336, 337, 338, 339, 340, 341....344!
She hesitantly walked in and there she was! 11:40, perfect time.
"Hi, Sara." She sounded very calm, unlike the rest of the voices she heard throughout the day so far...
"How'd you know my name?" Sara was a bit paranoid.
She laughed, "Sara, you're one of the scheduled patients. You were reccomended by plenty of people."
Without any hesitation, they began. The session barely helped. She just thought of Miranda and her face when she fell. It was a face of horror. Even though Miranda was an evil bitch, she just had to feel sorry for her.
"When you see a person point at you, what do you think?" Addriane asked friendly.
No response.
"You know what, meet me tomorrow, get all this off your head. And then we will have some one-on-one chat."
She laughed and smiled bye to Sara.
Sara was not thrilled to see Madam Thompson in the car, waiting for her. She slowly walked toward the car, acting as if she didn't know where her car was, but Madam Thompson honked. Sara was startled, and that gave away the impression.
Sara got inside the car, and could see Madam Thompson look at her from the rear-view mirror. There was silence most of the way home, until she noticed a ring on her finger, one that was not there before.
"Stop the car." Sara commanded.
"Okay." They parked at a nearby restaurant called Mike's Bar and Grill, but they did not eat there.
"What's that on your finger? The orphanage can't afford a ring!" Sara was confused.
"Sara, I've been meaning to tell you. I've been dating for a year now.." Madam Thompson couldn't refuse a smile on her face
"With who?"
"Rodney's Father."
That's right! Rodney's parents were divorced, and Madam Thompson and his father, Rick, were both around the same age! But the ring was for..oh my.
"I'm engaged!" The Mistress squealed.
"Oh my gosh! I'm happy for you!"
In the midst of their celebration inside the restauraunt, Sara asked a more intimate question.
"This didn't happen because of me and this morning was it? Because I didn't mean-"
"No Sara! I forgave you, and this was out-of-the-blue! Rick was planning it for some time now."
They enjoyed the rest of their evening, planning the wedding already. They were ecstatic! Sara called Rodney, to tell about the news!
"So this means we will be siblings....sort of?"
Sara couldn't believe her ears. She never had a brother, and she was overjoyed to have her first brother be her best friend! And Madam Thompson did say that Sara was the closest to a daughter she ever had.
Sara and Madam Thompson went up to the courthouse.
"Why are we here?" Sara asked, and her voice echoed throughout the grand hall, and hit the governor's ears.
"Because Madam Thompson, as your legal guardian changed your name."
Sara stared at the Mistress and asked her what she changed it to, without her permission.
She breathed in slowly, and let out a small smile and a calm reply,
"Sara Thompson."
