I peered out the window, my chin resting on my hands. There wasn't much to see besides the cold and rainy London streets. I sighed and dropped my hands to my coffee, but I didn't take a sip. I wasn't in the mood for anything right now, except for perhaps someone to give me a smile.

But since that wasn't going to happen, I just continued to look out the window, taking in every detail. From the outline of phone booths to the little trails of water that the raindrops made on the window.

My watch now said 8:10, four minutes since the last time I checked. Since my classes started at nine, I stood up and pushed my chair in. I smiled as it made a scraping noise on the tile floor. Little sounds like that pleased me.

Suddenly I felt my head bash into another’s and I cried out in pain. I heard the voice (male I believe) cry out as well.

“Oh um I'm sorry.” I mumbled quietly and pulled my beanie down further on my head.

“No worries.” I looked up, and instantly stopped dead. It was as if my whole world had stopped, with me still moving and looking into the brilliantly blue eyes of this boy. His hard, chiseled chin, his messy and tousled brown hair, everything revolved around his eyes.

“Zayn.” He smiled and held out a hand, and I weekly held mine out. He shook it, his grip strong and firm.

“I have to go.” I mumbled a goodbye and then scrambled to get my shoulder bag. Then I rushed out of there.

“I'm sorry, I didn't get your name!” He called after me.

“Adeline!” I yelled over my shoulder. I kept running and didn’t wait for his reply. All I focused on was making sure my feet hit the pavement, right, left, right, left. But of course, the pattern was ruined and I felt myself falling and falling until my face hit the coldness of the ground. Pain shot through my eyebrow and I placed my hand on the brow bone as I sat up.

“Ouch.” I muttered bitterly.

“Hey Adeline, you alright love?” Zayn stood in front of me, his eyes crinkled at the corners and his lips twitched into a smile.
